I'm studying in China from 4 years , before moving China , i would recommend you just to come on 6 month plan, fews things which makes hard to live in China is , language , people and pollution. Language is big problem for anyone moving to China as it's not that easy and 2nd people generally don't know English, so sorting out plumber, repairing , taxi issues you need to know language. 2- people , people are cold and awkward here. They stare at you , they don't trust foriegner , they are not friendly or i would say lively , they are mostly friend with just to improve their English or their own mean work. 3- pollution, big problem, sky mostly smoggy and some places it's so serious that cause allergy to eyes (I feel government is working on it but stil not very good) . Extra tip if you are looking for job do confirm that company does have proper grant to higher foriegn staff or teacher.
@Nicofilms5 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for the tips and comments. The last one is very useful, most jobs would end end up being a years contract so I would try and assume you would be here for at least that. I actually have a new video coming out in a couple of weeks that also touches on some of these points. Where have you been studying in China? I have found the people to be really friendly in China and always willing to help. I do get stared at quite a lot with me being blonde but usually a smile gets a smile back. I know very limited Mandarin but I have also found this not to be that big of a problem (Google translate is my best friend) haha In some smaller cities I would think it would be a lot harder to get around.

@michaeldengg4 жыл бұрын
Hmm, you got to be good at it, then you go to the Visa application and see if they accept you, you might need a Certificate of some sorts, I know a friend that went to China as an electrician but be warned, Language is very important, and you gotta be patient and all, but one of the most important for electricians is that in China it is hella different, mansions are rare so you'd probably be working on High Rise building most of the time. lol

For those who gonna travel to China for the first time, you can bring cash no problem, or if you want to experience Chinese mobile pay culture but you dont have a Chinese bank account, you just go to any Chinese 99€ store or Chinese restaurants in your town and let them know that you want red packet money on your wechat, then you pay with your country’s currency, the exchange rate may slightly different from banks. You can pay anything, I really mean anything with your wechat in China, so enjoy your trip🐸👏

Thanks!! I didn't know you could do this. Wechat is literally the best, I love it. I should of also mentioned that a lot of places don't actually accept foreign cards but atm's do so you can get cash out to pay.

I love decorating a new place! To be honest we got a lot of our home stuff from Ikea 🤭 we have since bought a few things from Taobao (Amazon in China) and a little shop called Nome. We've only really bought cheap stuff as never really sure how long we plan to stay in China. I'm sure if you went to some markets as well you would be able to find some bits but I'm not really sure about specific shops.

@@Nicofilms Aha! I've heard about Nome. I love Scandi style (I used to live in Gothenburg). Glad to know that Ikea is in Beijing. I have job offers all over but have narrowed it down to hangzhou or beijing.. what do you think?
@Nicofilms5 жыл бұрын
Ohhh both great cities it kind of depends on what you are after when living in China. I love living in Beijing it's great and there is loads to do but it is a more expensive city to live in. I also find it's quite far away from a lot of places so it's not so easy to travel at the weekends. Hangzhou is in a great area and you can reach many places nearby in a few hours. It's very green but and beautiful and also quite touristy. I felt like the weather was more extreme in that area though as it gets very humid whereas Beijing is quite dry. I think whichever you pick you will enjoy but if you haven't been to China and want to travel a lot then maybe Hangzhou is a good option.
@lxvlx5 жыл бұрын
@@Nicofilms Ah dang.. I really have a hard time with humidity but most of China seems to be that way :( On the weather map though it seems as if Beijing also gets quite humid around that time of the year though? (not quite as bad, but still bad enough) Thank you for the insight!
@Nicofilms5 жыл бұрын
@@lxvlx Yeh, unfortunately, a lot of China gets humid in the summer it's not a nice time haha and there is usually a bit of rain. Having lived in both areas I do think the weather is better in Beijing even though it gets far colder in winter as we have heating and my home in Nanjing did not have heating.

I'm all the way from Trinidad and I love China and would love to live here but I'm scared because I'm not white I'm brown and some Chinese people can be a little rude at times and I don't have any family so I'd have to rent which scares me more

I do know a girl on Instagram who is in China and who is also from Trinidad and she might be able to help you with any questions you might have. Her handle is Vanita95. Most Westerners who live in China have no family here either, everyone has to rent and its totally fine. Some people rent on their own or find a roommate.
