One tip I would definitely share with people is to save your game a lot! The games uses autosave sporadically and it's better to save more often then to lose hours of gameplay. Everytime I go on an adventure with my Little Subby (seamoth) or Big Subby (cyclops) I save the game, just in case they get destroyed. As soon as your vehicle gets destroyed: close the game and reload.

I named the seamoth strider, the prawn suit reaper,(as in reaping the ores, cuz I l9ve puns and also cuz it kill things with the drill a lot) and I named the cyclops Mariana as in the Mariana trench.

Technically its *not* a Horrorgame :) thats the Good News. The bad News is....Subnautica utilizes Terror. You know that hostile Creatures exist. You hear them...but you dont know if and when they will strike. Subnautica keeps you on Edge and if you think youre fine....*beep* half translated radio message with creepy voice.

Just so you know, only a few creatures will attack when removed from the alien containment. Most, like the boneshark, won't. I have a pet boneshark named Fred. :-]

So since I thought that having too many pets in the containment unit was making my game laggy, I chose to release a couple of dupe bone sharks near my base. Not only did it not help with the lag, not only did they now attack me, but them being small sharks made a certain shark related song for toddlers stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

Learning how to stack multitask rooms, then realizing you could put ladders in them was a good feeling

One tip from me is if you're terrified of being mauled by two giant ghost leviathans in the grand reef trying to get to or from the Lost river, or the Degasi Base, just go through the trench way and out to the base through there. If you need to get your cyclops through, head there via the mountains corridor. Saves the heeby-jeebies of open ocean in complete darkness too.

After 7 hours of playing, I can confidently say this is one of my favorite games! So far I made a seamoth, and started to build a base, I explored both islands and got the rifle blueprint and soon I'm gonna try to get some magnetite for it. Me and my friend have been playing while in a call so we can talk about what we are doing in the game and he was trying to get back to island 1 when he said "What's the dead zone?" and I remembered that was where the ghost leviathan was and freaked out telling him to get out of there but it was too late.

When I got the scanner room and discovered it can find data boxes and fragments, the game got easier. Found the cyclops parts in no time.

Yup that's why I made multiple scanner bases and set them all to max range made life 10x easier no need to search for 15 minutes just to find 1 thing

In my opinion, the scanner room speed upgrade is pretty useless (speed upgrade reduces area scan time by 3 seconds per upgrade). Yeah it scans faster, but players will miss out on some extra materials that is probably 50m away. WIth all 4 range upgrades, players can get up to 500m range to find materials which is amazing. Plus, while the scanner room is scanning for more materials every 14 seconds, players on their way to pick up the materials will literally not notice the speed at all. I always have 4 range upgrades to my scanner rooms and it still feels extremely fast.

I like building scanner rooms next to kelp biomes. Never have to dick around with stalkers except getting metal and dropping it all over and waiting for the red rings to show me the new teeth they lost playing while I scavenge. This game is awesome, hope I don’t beat it soon.

Other tips: the tiger plant can be harvested and used as a natural deterent for hostile creatures. It will still attack you, but it's easy to dodge the seeds it shoots.

Having no idea how to build a base I had to re-place the scanner room multiple times, ultimately failing to connect it properly and just adding another port to get in. Still, MAJOR upgrade. For some reason I'm blind as hell and couldn't find salt for water, turn that on, crank up the range, apparently I'm living on a saltbed, so yet another reason I picked a great base location!

FYI, creatures bred in the ACU will not attack you when released in the wild

If you raised it, it never actually becomes to you. However they can still be annoying or even dangerous depending on other habits. For example crabsquid have an emp blast and if light is shone on them, they freak out and use that emp. If it's near your base Like I did, they will basically shut down the whole base. I suffocated because of this once.

After the Aurora explodes, go check out the water right at the back of the thrusters. You'll hear a hurt creature screaming, if you help it, it will help you avoid the big scary creatures.

I had a bug wher I glitched through the floor T one point when leaving my base, it thought I was in air so fell to the ground. After a few seconds I fell through the floor all the way to lava zone. I litterally just started the game for the first time 10 before. So I got stuck down there in on of the alien facilities with a warpgate, and came out at the mushroom place I think(I didn't know there were two mushroom forests) and finally made it back. Then it happened again I was just stuck in the ground constantly dying so I deleted it and started a new one.

I’m new to the game and what I found useful was practicing dodging leviathan attacks in my seamoth behind the aurora (obviously save your game before you go there) I realized, unless you are in a slow ass cyclops, ghost and reaper leviathans can be so easily outmaneuvered and they aren’t frightening anymore

cyclops are really fast; you just have to put it in overdrive (risking an engine overheat)

today when I went into my world, non of my progress saved despite me pressing ‘Save’ like 5 separate times and now, I don’t have my cyclops. Now I know I can cheat, I shall merely use the command to get it back because I’m not wasting another couple hours getting the blueprints again

Is there any way to delete blueprints? My seamoth had gotten stuck and it had a storage and depth module in it (I had gotten both from the Aurora(idk how sicn ei think the theres just 1) and I turned on the building cheat to build the vehicle station thing, to then build the modules, it unlocked all the blueprints, I thought it woudl just be for that session or while it was on but nope, now I have all the blueprints I'm trying to ontl use them once I actually find the fragments for it but it just feels like I cheated,I've already spent 30 hours on thsi world

The only thing that prevents you of getting trophies is playing on the easiest settings, where you do not need materials in order to build stuff.

Just a tip, if your into using cheats but when in game out of the pause menu hit L1 R1 and X at the same time and it will pop up a menu, and u type "spawn titanium" or etc and put in a number of how many u want to spawn

Couldn’t give you a specific location but you’ll find the eggs somewhere along your adventure and are able to hatch them in the alien containment area you can build.

There's 5 eggs in the game, the easiest one to find is inside the Degassi base in the Grand Reef
