"You don't need to read for the appeasement of other people" is the single best piece of advice someone can give for reading. So many of us have been conditioned (usually by school) that reading is almost a chore.

@@isaacbear7115 literally!! That’s why it makes me sad that people think there are rules to reading. I love the “renaissance” of reading happening right now. It means more people are realizing they don’t hate reading, they just hate reading books that they’re forced to read. Or feel like they SHOULD read.
