My tip is to wear perfume every day, even if you’re just at home by yourself. Scent is powerful. It’s mood-boosting and/or calming. And when you’re feeling down and don’t want to get out of bed to shower, looking forward to wearing a perfume that helps put you in a better mental state can be motivation to get cleaned up. And then you feel even better since you’re nice and fresh. It can also help with focus. There’s science behind wearing the same perfume you wear for studying while taking a test to improve information recall.

I shower at night because I don’t like getting into bed if I don’t, but I think the act of washing my face and putting on skincare has the same wake-up effect as showering in the morning 👍🏻 These are good tips, I think jewellery and makeup are what help me feel confident, as well as dressing “up” (as opposed to super casual).

The tip about blush has been such a game changer for me. I went and got myself a hydrating mineral lip & cheek tint. It makes my face come alive. I don't really like to wear makeup all that much, and a nice rosy tint just takes the no-makeup-makeup-look up a notch!

Talk about timing! i’ve been feeling a little down lately because of my acne and how I’ve tried so many remedies for it but it doesn’t work. I’m due to start Accutane soon too and I’m nervous about how much worse my skin is going to get before it gets better, but it’s important that my skin doesn’t suffer for my overall physical and mental health. I’m trying to focus now on getting adequate hydration and gentle skincare so that I can pamper my skin as much as possible before starting treatment.

Hey there, as a nutritionist reading your comment, just wanted to mention that zinc can really help acne, especially hormonal acne. Zinc picolinate is the most absorbable form of zinc, and it’s very affordable. I always suggest trying this supplement first for a few weeks to see if it helps clear things up. Can start with 30-50mg and make sure you eat w a good meal so you don’t get nauseous (as minerals can sometimes do on an empty stomach). Also ask your doctor or parents before beginning, but honestly most people with acne are deficient in zinc so it’s a good conversation to have. Anyhow, best of luck to you!

I take a shower to relax at the end of the day. I never leave the house without lipstick. That pop of color changes your look. I totally agree with undergarments. I do my nails once a week. I give my nails a break from nail polish twice a week. Rings are wonderful.

These are tips I can share with my soon to be 10-year-old, thank you! They are also simple and practical for anyone. The Burt’s Bees Pomegranate lip balm is exceptional because it’s balmier than the others and has a very minimal red tint I can really bring some color to your face without looking like lipstick! It especially great for those of us with skin tone color lips. Good laundering practice can go along way! I don’t use a steamer, however, for silk clothing because it is all too easy to burn. Instead, I will dunk the silk garment in Coldwater and drip dry in the shower! Silk dries quickly and this method renders it just about wrinkle free! So I do this between washes to keep the items refreshed and minimize how often I need to wash them, ensuring longevity too.
@LifeWithElyse2 жыл бұрын
Yes to the steamer. I keep mine in a wrack by my bed to remind me every time before I even put my clothes on. I also try to have most of my clothes already steamed before I put them back in the closet or after getting laundry done. Great tips! 💕

I live in the sub-tropics so shower at night, as I could never imagine getting into bed dirty and then again in the morning. I also wash my hair every second day as it tends to get greasy, when I was younger I washed it every day! Sunday afternoons used to be a ritual for me to do the week’s ironing- all the school uniforms and clothing for my husband and myself, now I hardly have anything to iron.

Very good tips and good ones to share with teens. Morning showers are not within my grasp (I have a very large family and one bathroom), but I absolutely cannot start my day well without washing my face with a good gentle soap like goat's milk based, and lotion, and brushing my hair. If I do makeup it's even better, but waking up your face and the feeling of not just being "presentable" but doing something good for yourself is so important!

I am a Medical Biochemist ..... Be careful how much lip balm you are using as they can cause your lip health to become unbalanced and can actually dry your lips out more - in fact, it can become a vicious circle. Great piece! Keeping your overall standards neat and fresh really makes a massive difference to how people perceive you. They tend to approach you more, smile at you etc.
