I agree that finding a niche is vital. In my case, making content for a video game that had very little up-to-date content or online tutorials was what got me some traction.

That whole AMF method is very reassuring. Like you said, we are well-educated beyond the realm of our action. The awkward phase is a lot less pressure because it gives me the courage to not seek perfection. Great video as usual!

Challenge accepted! I commit to create 35 videos, aiming for one per week. Couple questions: 1) if I start releasing videos, will people who see those videos be able to see all comments I’ve ever made on other channels’ videos? I’m wondering if I should create a separate/clean account for my channel?

My other question is, is it right to assume most videos should be How To’s made with the idea of helping someone solve a problem? I.e., not a personal story or overview of a knowledge topic if it doesn’t have a direct/immediate application? Video length? 5 min? 10-12 min?

One more- thoughts or advice on how much (or little) to share about one’s personal circumstances? Personal examples around growth can make things powerful but can also lead to a vulnerability hangover. Or even allow some wacko to find you IRL?

You can create a channel with the same KZbin account. People won't be able to see your previous activity just by going on your channel. But if you left a comment or something under a random video they will see that. I would just start fresh with a new channel if you have any concerns. For your other concerns, I suggest sharing as much as you're comfortable with and won't regret. People do value channels that seem more authentic and personable. But that doesn't mean you have to overshare every aspect of your life unless you want to. Also, I feel like you are looking at this very mechanically right now. Just post something with meaning and intention would be my advice. If you want more info, check out author purposes.
