Thank you Calikim and Camera Guy. Today in the morning I transplanted some of my tomatoes outside in my back yard, once the sun starts to go down I will go again to transplant the rest. I have a variety Cherry tomatoes and colors, some heirloom beef stakes and a variety of regular size heirloom tomatoes as well. Thanks to your tips, as to when to plant, what to plant, when to start I am doing so much better then last year. I live in Santa Clarita ( Six Flags) our heather is similar, hotter in my area though. I started because my 80 yr old mother to keep her occupied and help with depression. She is very happy and excited and tells every one, she plants and grows veggies in containers. I let her have all the credit ha ha ha. I work and now gardening I have so much work but I love it, my mom is enjoying it, she just walk out to her tiny patio and grabs her lettuce, sugar peas and soon warm weather veggies. Gardening is really helping me with my mom and through this pandemic year. Happy Gardening season!

Hello from Appletree Urban Homestead (on KZbin) from Perth Australia. I just found your channel and subscribed. We have just started our own little urban homestead but unfortunately our poor vegie garden got decimated with the extremely hot weather we had earlier in the year here in Perth Australia. We are having to start all over again and I am documenting our journey to self sufficiency on my new KZbin channel.

My tomatoes got some cold damage this year. Maybe a little sunburn too. But now that it’s warming up, they are slowly but surely greening up and growing. They should be just fine in another week or so. Going to get into the upper 70s next week.

I have followed you for quite some years and every year I still learn new things! Amazing! I looooved the tip with the black plastic bags to warm up the soil. Here it still is cold in May after last frost day and my tomato seedlings - despite gradually hardening off - go into cell-chock every time after being being planted for at least two to three weeks before continuing to grow. Warming up the soil beforehand will surely help combat this issue! You dressed perfectly for this video, Kim. Tomato-red so to say. Will have to look for that sweet t-shirt (hopefully available in big sizes). ;-)

Thank you for so much great content! In an older tomato planting video, you put coffee grounds, powdered milk, finely ground egg shells, and epsom salt in the planting hole. Is that because you planted directly into the ground, and not a container? I’m a newbie, growing tomato from seed for the first time ever. I’ll be planting in a raised bed, and would love to know the best way to feed my hole. 🍅🕳😆

Loving this series. I'm a little nervous now about transplanting my seedlings because I live in eastern NC, and once it gets warm, it goes almost straight to upper 80s, and then mid to upper 90s with tons of humidity. I have a question though unrelated to tomatoes. Can I grow things like lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower (cool weather veggies) indoors over the summer? I keep my house pretty cool and I have grow lights. I'd love to have some fresh lettuce to make salads with all of the tomatoes and cucumbers I hope to harvest for my first pretty big garden.

Hi, Kim. Thank you for all the great tips! I have a question about my Igor brussels sprouts. I live in Alaska, and bought these seeds without paying attention to the days to maturity...rookie mistake. They are 200 days to maturity, so I started them in late January. I transplanted them to 4” soil blocks, and will put them in the ground once the soil is workable, mid-May or so... They are growing, and I am noticing that there is one leaf toward the bottom of each seedling that is yellowing. Is it a nitrogen deficiency, or could it be that the leaf is just done? I don’t think it’s a magnesium deficiency.
