Steve MacInnis Depends on where you live I guess. Still, he entered a closed in area, that is Trespassing. I think the cops didn't take it serious because they were renters and don't own the property. It's a given that if you step on my property un-invited, then your trespassing. Sign or not, it's trespassing.

This is quite scary... on Monday earlier this week my next door neighbor was broken into. At the time his girl friend was asleep downstairs. The burglars broke in from their bathroom on the second floor using a ladder. My dog went insane, but I just yelled at him for being loud. The girlfriend heard the burglars and apparently started screaming and banging doors to get attention from my house and my other neighbors, but we all heard nothing. In total they lost around 8000 dollars worth of stuff, including a really rare vintage South African coin they were selling on eBay for 7k. Very unfortunate...

Hi, I'm Phoebe I'm 12 years and I want to tell you my story.... So, as you all know yesterday was Friday 13th and on that day when it was the evening both my parents were at work. I'm use to being alone... Mornings, afternoons, evenings and even night but because I was so use to it I hadn't thought of what might happen. I ignored the fact that it was so dark and that any danger could be lurking around any corner. Suddenly there was a knock at the door a very gentle knock at first but it got louder every minute "it" knocked atleast 5 times. It creeped me out a little because usually you would knock twice then leave so I turned the TV off and stayed still, I didn't move a muscle and I didn't even think about turning the lights off because otherwise "it" would know I was there. Although I didn't care too much I was a little scared, I grabbed my phone and looked out the window which was probably the worst idea. All i saw was a person with a black hoodie and black baggy pants I thought it was a homeless man trying to ask for a sleeping bag or food. So I went to the door pausing for a few seconds thinking "No, don't open the door mom never says open a door to a stranger. The stranger might of seen me through the peek hole... What did you do Phoebe!" I creeped up the stairs though they was so creaky and tried not to make a sound coming up to my room. Once I got to my room I heard a deep voice saying "Can I come in? I'm your mom's friend?" I knew that was for sure not my mom's friend her friend always wore a dress when coming to my house. I stayed in my bed hoping "it" would leave. So, after at least an hour of waiting I didn't see or hear anything so I thought it was safe but... I was wrong way way wrong... As soon as I got one step down I heard my front door open my parent's never ever went in the front door when coming home from work. I quickly lifted myself up the stairs and creeped into my room and called 911. I had to tell them all my information and all the things of course they said they would be there in 3 minutes and for me to keep on the Phone with me. I saw the man come up the stairs and into my parents room to hide. I started crying hoping he wouldn't see me.. 3 minutes later I heard the door burst open saying POLICE PUT YOUR HANDS UP!! Sooner or later my parents came back because they heard of the issue and the police arrested the man. And right now we are looking for a new house that we can move into in 3 weeks..... Happy Friday 13th

That one with the " No Trespassing " signs reminded me of a weird thing I discovered in my area some years ago. If you have a dog in your yard and post " Beware of the Dog" signs at any point of entry to warn people, you can/WILL be charged, if some breaks into your yard and gets bitten by your dog. Apparently these signs are considered an " admission of guilt - determining you have a savage dog " on the premises and on that basis ANY harm caused to anyone under any circumstances is automatically deemed to be your fault. *This is a FUCKED up world we live in*

Australia mate and yes I agree but it seems local councils and police seem to have a different idea on the matter. We also have people regularly being prosecuted for defending their property against intruder that have broken into their house and threatened them physically. Not only that but if someone breaks into you house and manages to hurt themselves by accident while moving around the house they can and have sued the owners. I`m in the local Neighbourhood Watch Groups and we have been getting told to remove CCTV footage of people breaking into vehicles because it is " an invasion of privacy " apparently targeting someone that is innocent till proven guilty. BUT if I was to do down the street doing 3 kilometers over the speed limit the cops would be right onto me if seen. The whole thing is screwed and got it all backwards.

In the 5th story I’m surprised how calm and informative that guy was on the phone and after all that I would say tell me again how this isn’t a priority. I feel like the best thing to say is “I don’t want to have to do this but if the police don’t get here and this guy gets in I won’t hesitate to kill him and if they even think about arresting me for killing this guy I will be more then happy to tell anyone that will listen that the police forced me to do this because they refused to come when we called saying a man is trying to break in and already assaulted someone” the reason I feel like that will make them come faster is because sadly I think the police care more about not looking bad or getting bad publicity then actually doing their job and protecting ppl

Locked doors wont keep out psychos that want to get in. A normal size person that's angry or desperate can easily kick in a door and anyone can break a window. Get a firearm and train with it.
