@General Rico I’m pretty sure it is in the states that legalize the death penalty because they might as well have murdered the child because it will never be able to have the life that it could’ve before the crime. They will always remember and will always find things that remind of the crime which will send them into a panic. Because of the offender the child might never recover from it, and thus they must pay with their life

@danielleoatway77173 жыл бұрын
@@toothless3835 I agree! Why waste tax payers money to house and feed a disgusting pedophile? They should just be executed. A lot of convicted murderers aren’t even monsters,. Just because you commuted murder, in the eyes of the law, doesn’t mean it was intentional or cold blooded. Vehicular manslaughter isn’t an intentional act or done out of some sick gratification the way a serial killer would. Manslaughter and murder are not the same thing so it’s not just as simple as execute all the “killers” because they are all evil monsters. But a pedophile yes I do. Even if they are haven’t acted on those urges and can control them, or think they can, I know as a mother of 2 young children just the thought of someone fantasizing about my child sexually makes me sick! She made me apologize to my step sister..... her daughter for accusing her fiancé. My stepmother and my father left me alone with him even after that. She made me look like a bad girl. I was such a good girl. Now she’s 85 years old and she believes me now that I’m 49 years old. But it’s too late. And I am finding it so hard to forgive her. And I know I need to. I wish I could tell my 13 year old self, That’s it’s going to be ok. 😭 For the lady that went threw this, Jesus bless you. And I’m sorry you had to go threw that. None of that was your fault. So that girl was secretly planning their wedding, but also planning to break up with him? Sounds like an unstable woman.
@dahliacheung60202 жыл бұрын
She was young and he was the only guy she'd ever dated it seems like. Rather than viewing her as unstable I saw her as being naive and hopeful. She was in love, but at the same time slowly falling out of it. But because she had thought they'd end up married at some point and she wanted to be hopeful that she's end up staying with her high-school sweetheart, she was secretly planning a wedding (in her head) to appease that per of herself that wanted there to be that happy ending with her. She wasn't literally planning a wedding, she says it like she was planning a wedding in her head and that she didn't even tell him or bring up marriage to him at all. That's something a lot of young girls who dream of getting married do. They'll look at wedding dresses online and make pinterest lists of one's they like. They're imagine what flower combinations would look nice and who their bridesmaids would be. I like doing these things myself even when I'm single. However, the hopeful part was only half of her feelings. The other half of her could see that he was slowly growing more and more unhinged- something that her hopeful side minimized even as her more sensible half imagined breaking up, if that would be best, how it would go, how to let him down gently. She probably knew a break up was coming though her love for him and hope that he'd stop being insane tried to make her ignore his action. But in the end when he made that big scene in public the hopeful part of her was no longer able to smother her concerns and she realized that breaking up was the only option that made sense anymore. Hopefully this clears things up a bit for you, as you seemed to take the language she used far more literally than intended.

Wow! That last story was raw. My heart goes out to that young lady. I hope she has spoken to a professional about her painful experience. During my early years as a teacher, a dear friend & fellow teacher who taught high school (I taught 4th grade at the time) in another nearby city asked If I wanted to be a counselor at a 3 day retreat with 9 graders and I said yes. Counselors went 1 day early for training. Retreat was like a character building, team building type retreat that focused on empathy & social justice. There was a lot of role-play type exercises. There were even 2 local police officers- young charismatic guys, who volunteered as counselors. At the end of the 3 days, the entire group of students (roughly 60-80 kids) had forged a strong bond with each other. That was over 20 years ago but I will never forget 1 particular exercise where the boys & girls were separated into 2 large groups and sat indian style on the floor facing each other while a counselor read out a series of statements and if it applied to you, you raised your hand. You weren't allowed to speak. One of the statements was (I'm paraphrasing), "Either myself or one of my close friends has been physically hurt by a significant other". Every single 9th grade female raised her hand. The statement may have even been more dramatic but Ugh! I still get choked up remembering that. The 9th grade boys gasped. Many of them burst into tears. It was a very powerful retreat. That was in a San Jose Calif public high school.

I know I'm going to get crap for this, but I have to say it. You really need to include a trigger warning for sexual assault. I know people will say, "It's a horror podcast, what did you expect?" The thing is, I listen to horror to be entertained, not relive traumatic experiences. After all, what is a scary story to some people is real-life to others, so maybe be less vague with your titles or something. It wouldn't take that much of your time to think about the well being of your listeners. I truly enjoy listening to Lets Read! I love your voice and you are a great narrator. The story about the girl in the 8th grade that was assaulted and photographed and blackmailed bothered me for more than one reason. What kind of parents allow a girl in the 8th grade to go to a party at a house that they haven't seen themselves? I would have taken her to this house and wanted to speak with the parents. What kind of parents don't call the police when their 8th grader doesn't come home all night? What kind of parents allow their child to tell them not to call the police after she comes home nearly naked and having been assaulted? She should have been taken to the hospital in a rape kit done. There was so much wrong with that story and it's centered around the parents. You would think that they would have taught her better if they were decent parents. You don't accept drinks you don't make yourself. You definitely don't go to a house where you are the only female and even then you don't go to a house where you don't know the people very well. Even if there was another female there she could have been part of what they were doing.

Can we have less stories about sexual assault stuff?
@debbieshaw90183 жыл бұрын
That last story where the young girl was sexually assaulted by them boys made me wonder what the hell is wrong with young girls that crave attention from young men that are older than them. I am a 63 year old woman and I would have been mortified I'd have been smarter than that in fact I got into a situation that I worked myself out of. It was senior year in me and two other girls friends in my class were out partying, small town, we went and bought some wine, you know how it is you can get somebody to buy things for you because actually we were underage and maybe it was beer. I'm 63 years old I can't remember but we went to our Lake and was sitting on the dock and so we were sitting there drinking, talkin and all of a sudden these African-American guys probably three of them showed up, they were working at the lake, I think they were actually like maybe doing jail time and that was their job for whatever they had done I don't really know. So they start talking to us and of course we got a wide expanse of lake beyond us as we are sitting on the dock and my two friends clammed up and I thought to myself okay somebody has to take the reins because if we don't start talking things might start happening so I started talking to them, I kept it you know friendly everything like that. They did not stay long but they gave the vibes that I felt like things was going to happen if we hadn't interacted with them so I was going to make a jump for the water if things went wrong because I can swim very well I don't know about the other two I doubt that one of the friends could the other one I didn't know her so well and yeah some of you might think well that was rude if I had done that to them to dessert them but how was I going to help us by staying there because men overpower women and they were oh I don't know maybe 10 years older than us been so long ago I can't remember but anyway they wanted to know that if after they got off of work that they would go buy some more booze and come back and party with us well since I was the one that was doing all the talking I said sure sounds like a good idea I think they were supposed to get off like in a half an hour or something like that so they got in their truck and left I think they were emptying trash cans and they got their truck and they left we waited till they were way out of sight and I said let's get the hell out of here and we left I think if I had not talked had not acted friendly maybe the situation would not have been good maybe they wouldn't have done anything but you've got to keep your head about you you've got to think can I work myself out of this situation never went to an out-of-the-way place like that even though it was at a lake where people are, there was a west side and an east side and we were on the east side where it was more secluded, they could have very easily had their way with us of whatever they wanted to do so I made sure after that I was never in another situation like that. But I wonder where this young girl was that that she in her mind that it was okay to be hanging around older guys and being the only girl in the group when I started hearing this story I knew where it was going I'm glad that she got out of it I'm glad that she's doing alright, praise God that nothing bad happened to her, nothing that she couldn't overcome. I really hope that the young people listen to these stories and learn from them. Especially the girls but also the boys there's so many sexual predators out there just makes me sick. I have three grandsons two of them are old enough that they know better in the third one he's going to be 12 but they are all have all been talk to about what to expect from people as of staying away from. And I think parents could play a big role in this too, talk to their children about what to expect and what to look out for I could not understand the parents in this story so blase about her running around and having a good time and not making sure of who she was running around with. Just praise God that she was all right.

That last story is so awful, but a tip for anyone underage who is being blackmailed like that, by having those images they are in possession of Child p**n and by distributing them they WILL be charged with distribution of child p**n should they be reported. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THEY ARE ALSO UNDERAGED! There are a lot of laws being broken beyond that too. Please report them, tell somebody, I know it's embarrassing, but once they are done with one victim they will move on to another. My sympathy to that poor girl, I hope she gets the support she needs and has a beautiful life.

I agree with everyone about that poor young girl. If she had told mom and and he sent out those pics & videos they'd have gotten jail and offenders registry, 8th grade!? So sad for her. Boys like that are the reason I started drilling it into my daughter's head and her bff (basically like my other daughter) never take a drink from anyone you don't know, if you walk away from your drink get a new one, if you get a bottled drink and you don't get that psst sound from the seal breaking throw it out, and very important- no matter where you are who you're with,what you're doing, or what time it is, you call ME! I will come get you no question. She got her own cell phone in middle school. I never regretted it and she never abused it. Whenever she or her brother called I answered no matter where I was or who was with me. It's a Shame a few animals like these guys put such fear in the hearts of mothers.

The girl from the last story: Bless your sweet beautiful heart. Your parents would not be ashamed and you deserve justice. Please know you are not alone. There are so many of us who can help you. Kudos to your hero of a teacher. She’s amazing but most importantly YOU ARE AMAZING! My name is Emily Bear and I am on Instagram if you ever want to talk. Those boys deserve to go down for their horrible crimes against you but that is ultimately up to you. Be compassionate with yourself because it is NOT YOUR FAULT. I’m sending love and prayers your way, whoever and wherever you are. You are not alone.

If these “scary stories” are just mundane, insignificant happenings AGAIN I’m unsubscribing. All you narrators keep reading boring bullshit lately and I’m sick of it. Like you don’t read the stories first or something, which isn’t possible given what you do. So keep in mind that in order to keep customers, anyone’s selling a product has to have a decent product or lose their customers...

Oh man I love your videos so much and I watch/listen to every single one, but I’m kind of really disappointed you chose to include that last story. Or didn’t give a warning. PLEASE be careful with stories like that, they can be extremely triggering to survivors of sexual assault and bring back awful memories.
@nightbeast8959 Жыл бұрын
What happened to good old fashioned horror creepy stories? Why all the r*pe stories? Sadly unsubscribing from all of the pages that have devolved to this. One every now and then I can see, but not every single story. Not to be insensitive but that isn’t why I’m here. Maybe put trigger warnings about pedos and r*pe in the description instead of “winter stories.” Its deceptive. Thx

That last story stopped me dead in my tracks as Ive had a similar situation with an eye doctor I had met. No he didn’t bother me for photos afterwards he did harass me afterwards and even made me question if I was ever even R****. To this day I hate the fact that I allowed myself to be vulnerable and went on a date with him that night. Even mire I hate the fact that although I didn’t really want to take the drink , I also didn’t want to be a party pooper cause I thought I’d like the guy. Only if I had listened to my inner voice that night. That situation has definitely shaped my view in motherhood and safety!

I know exactly the type of teacher the narrator is talking about in the fourth story and they are NOT completely harmless. They make female students completely uncomfortable and self-conscious with their lecherous staring. Young girls should be able to feel safe at school and these creeps make that impossible. Dealing with the male students is hard enough, they shouldn't have to deal with the same from adults.

22:06 let me find out it's the same Mr. Edwards I know 👀 maybe it's a coincidence but he was known to be very flirtatious with the girls in my highschool. I also had an experience with a teacher in highschool he made me very uncomfortable always picking on me and calling me beautiful, I could feel his stare luckily I didn't stay in his class.

The last story is just obnoxious...I can't stand girls that let that go. I don't care that you're embarrassed, ashamed, yatta yatta. Those sickos need to be put behind bars and not doing anything about it will just continue their cycle of raping young girls. It just encourages them. You can't get over something like that if you don't get help and tell someone. We need to teach our daughters to come to us no matter what. Especially if sexual assault ever happens.
