Guys pumpkin spice is not pumpkin, it's a SPICE (a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves and allspice to be exact) Just wanted to clarify, since it seems like everyone for some reason think it's actual pumpkin as a spice (and then gets mad when they read the ingredients and see no pumpkin on the list). It's just used a lot in pumpkin pie, hence the name pumpkin spice.

A lot of "pumpkin spice" has pumpkin in it too. I checked the box of pumpkin spice Cheerios and they had pumpkin puree in them. It can be both.

It’s so annoying!!! Yes pumpkin spice products sometimes include pumpkin, but it is not a requirement nor does it negate that pumpkin and pumpkin spice are NOT the same thing. I literally don’t understand how people get so pissed off about it- you don’t like it, don’t buy pumpkin spice products... but really? Who doesn’t like cinnamon, all spice, nutmeg, ginger, or cloves? Those are all included in my favorite spices.

I consider "pumpkin spice" (spiced pumpkin) to be a flavor and "pumpkin pie spice" (spices used in pumpkin pie) to be a flavor AND a spice blend.

"Pumpkin Spice" are the spices used in a pumpkin pie (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, all spice), it's not like someone turned pumpkin into a spice. So when people say "it doesn't taste like pumpkin" that's because it shouldn't.
