Actually, downers are not wastrels entirely. Wastrels are mostly the citizens who reacted poorly to Joy or so in a negative way. Downers went off their Joy by their own will.

Yeah. Wastrels are citizens who spoilers received a bad batch of joy that was made out of recycled materials and are no longer allowed to take it as the chemicals in the bad pill screwed up their brain to the point of rejecting joy like a hot pepper. Downers choose to go off because something pulls them out of it, and it shakes them up. Like Arthur seeing the article of his brother at the start of the game

Overall, after playing all the story, this is a decent game. The story is rather long (took me 70 hours including side quests and other activities) has some tense and emotional moments in which you have some feelings for the character but bugs, glitches, simple-minded AI and fetch quests made it lose some of the potential value it could have been.

personally I would say this is my favourite game for a story and style alone, I've only gotten round to play this game recently thanks to me fearing the price of if being around £50 so I got it second hand for around £20

The font used in many places in We Happy Few is the same modified Albertus font used in The Prisoner. I've never seen it used anywhere else.

Downers didn’t just Refuse to take their Joy. Joy wouldn’t work on them anymore, no matter how much they’d take, because they took a defective batch. So they were cast out. Some of them WANT to be back on Joy, and adore uncle Jack.

Guys, this game has so many bugs. I had to sell the game because more than halfway through the Arthur story, there was a huge bug that stopped me from continuing the story. The game was great up until that point, but just a heads up.

Huge bug? My ass. Pirated the game when the game was released, did all 3 character stories and passed it no problem. There was nothing that prevented progressing the story.

Honestly The survival mechanics Turned what was its own stand alone intresting game into a "Good Single player" For Example Garden District is full of famine there for its easier to starve, but nobody would care about you breaking curfew Where The Village will Have Joy Forced into you causing you to lose hunger and thirst. This would leave 2 Options Option A. Go back to the garden district and scavange rottern food Or Option B A Much Risky Break in which could end out with more Food, But at a higher risk. I also wished the police and Doctors Forced the Joy instead of outright killing the player. Sort of like posioning the food and thirst. But nope Instead you do slightly less damaige and they are no punishments for taking 20 Pills because of the amount of food they give you. TLDR: Good Game Would be better if they inivated more on the Survival mechanics.

Been watching a walkthrough for the game. The guy just finished Arthur's story. And... wow that ending. I'm glad they dumped the sandboxing. A concept like this NEEDS an interesting plot, NEEDS fleshed-out characters. Otherwise it's going to fall apart. Good on them for listening and changing the game while retaining the core ideas and concepts.

Borderlands808 It Literally is a AAA game. It used to be an indie game that got adopted by Gearbox which are AAA developers that made Borderlands. So they had a dev team of over 10 people, then when gearbox adopted them, they got hundreds of developers working on the game, along with gearboxes AAA budget.
