Congratulations on Vet school, that must be so interesting. I love all your puppies. I recently got a Yorkie, he's 4 1/2 months now. I've had three Yorkies in the past and now have a Morkie rescue who's 7 yrs. old. They are starting to play together a couple times a day but Rocky, the Morkie Is still the Alpha one. I have a 6 week old yorkie named scarlett and she's missing her mom and dad and siblings. How can I help her to not miss them so much shes whinny and I've been moistening her puppy food not sure if I'm doing it correctly. Any tips you can give that can help keep her entertained

That is normal for them to be that way. I will be honest and say she is too young to have been separated from her mom. Its actually illegal most responsible breeders will not let them go till after 8 weeks. As for puppy food she is getting her teeth and you should definitely see a vet to double check your yorkie to ensure all is ok and the proper nutrition and way to help her.

I have a 6 week old yorkie. I'm trying to get her to go outside. For the most part she does but still has accidents in the house. I was told by the breeder to keep water and food out 24/7 for the next two weeks. I also feed her meals 3 x a day. Is it ok to take away the 24/7 food and just do 3 meals. I feel she won't have as many accidents if it's just 3 meals a day.

Hi sorry for the late response been so busy. I recommend that you only have water available as needed. Feeding a puppy three times a day is great. Puppies will have accidents no matter what. Especially at 6 weeks when they aren't entirely weaned off mommy. But just take your puppy outside every two hours and just keep cleaner and paper towels at hand. Accidents will happen no matter what. Keep them in schedule with feedings and exercise is very healthy for them and allows their digestive system to process all the food.

Yes, look at the length! They are clearly docked and that always has to be done between three and five days old - never any later!

FYI you should never breed any dog that young, her bones are still developing, poor little puppy! It’s always best to do a lot of research before jumping into some thing like breeding Yorkies! You should always wait until at least the second heat and preferably until they’re two years old! I know this post is two years old, but I’m saying this just in case someone reads your post and wrongly concludes Breeding a dog that young is acceptable behavior!
