7WA had quickly become the game my friends and I play nearly every session because it is so fast to setup and play, while still giving a bit of the 7W feel. I bought this expansion immediately. Being able to incorporate it with one breath is so refreshing for me as I'm always the one teaching rules.

I actually don't mind an expansion that ups the difficulty level smoothly. Then you have 2 options in one box for different levels of players. It also can be a nice stepping stone into more complex games, it can be easy to grok a few extra mechanics to a game you already know well.

Thanks for your review! 7 Wonders Architects fits a niche for game night when we have more than 4 players, which is most of the time, and we need an accessible game that everyone can enjoy, regardless of their gaming skills. Now, I need to decide if it’s worth the price for the expansion.

I was able to fit the medals and extra progress tokens in the original box with the war tokens etc. it’s a good way to have everything in one box minus the two new factions

Yes, such a great expension, easy plug-in, not game changing (witch is fantastic) but adds somthing extra, more fun, more focus (as put by Zee) and a notch of player interaction. We alwats play with the 2 extra medals in the middle. Due to this expabsion 7 wonders architects is our families favorites board game (again).

Looks quite simple to an already simple game, but still excited to try it out and important to remember the target audience. This and ticket to ride will be my new go to games for non gamers when i have 4+

@@xshadowscreamx Agreed. Cascadia already got it with the Landmarks expansion, where players compete to be the first to get bonus scoring cards. Its not exactly between neighbors, but it is public goals which has a similar effect on the game. I've never played the other two you mentioned, but would like to some day.

The medals module is fine. The two new civilizations are definitely cool, though.

Expansions always feel like they give you less than what you pay for me. You get a fraction of the components of the base game for like half (or more) the cost. That's why I only get expansions if I really like the base game, or if it gets a ton of play.

I agree. The medals are incredibly cheap. I don't regret buying it though.

Doesnt fit in original box, if it has lid lift, its because it doesnt fit. Hate having to open two boxes to set up a game instead of only 1 box when time is of essence. More trouble to travel with instead of carrying 2 different games you carry 2 boxes for one. Pass for me.

I think I got Architects to get people to play board games with me that usually do not. But I think if I wanted to "upgrade" the experience, I would just teach those people 7 Wonders. $25? I might just invest that money in a sick new game entirely instead...

Zero of my non gaming friends have ever asked to play a game, this is a category to get people to spend more money and try to justify

Cash grab, original 7 wonders is easy enough there is no real game here, $50msrp on base game to buy for your non gaming friends category is a bad way to milk more money from board gamers. Easy pass

Agreed. I'm baffled that people like this game. It's just a way to kill time. You can shift your play towards better odds but still too lucky, expensive, and gives you too little decision space for a game to play with people who didn't want to play games.
