Maybe I'm speaking way over my head here, but I think that developing quantum computers will be the vehicle that makes humanity a true space faring civilization. The development process would teach us little by little what we need to know to do really weird things like bending space, generating gravity/antigravity, and projecting a deflector shield. Am I wrong or is it too hard to tell at this point?

More important than a big calculator is getting the true understanding of reality... i.e. gravity, the Aether... The mass, space-time paradigm won't get us too far, IMHO
