Boy, looks more like that train was doing 75 instead of 70. I wouldn't want to be stuck on the tracks with that iron monster barreling down the tracks. It really is awesome to see something that heavy and that big moving that fast!

yea our freight is vastly superior to other countries. while our passenger service suck it could be worst. hopefully we will see a rise in passenger service because i hate planes and sometimes i dont wanna drive

I was wondering how it was determined that this train was (supposedly) running at 70 mph? Did the videographer use a speed gun? Or assumed the train was running at the track speed of 70 mph? A quick rough calculation at 73'2" per locomotive, four locomotives passing in about 3(-) seconds; I get around 66.5mph.

There's an angle between the direction of the train and the camera that has to be accounted for.

The angle doesn't matter, it's just a coupler to coupler timing to the same spot.
