the 1970 road runners were really beautiful , had a neighbor who bought one new when I was just a kid in junior high. Really appreciate the grille style and rear tail lights on this model !! I think of all the years these were made the 1970 model was the least appreciated , and I think the reason was that the superbirds took away all the attention from any real focus on these cars that particular year . It was a great time to be a young person who could appreciate these cars when they were being released !!!!!!
@geraldscott43022 жыл бұрын
The '68-'70 Roadrunner is a beautiful car, but I think the thing I like most about the styling is the rear roofline/B pillar. They flat out nailed it. To me that is the defining characteristic of that body style.

@@Jpw824 Yes, and I'm glad it still is. So many of these cars rusted away over time, and some of them met a fate worse than death. Some POS destroyed them with 30" GHETTO REEHUUMS, lowered them, made body modifications, did all sorts of terrible things to them. But the worst thing of all has to be those huge GHETTO REEHUUMS with no actual tires.

it seems that every muscle car from 65 thru 70 was beautiful. I remember that a gas station owner bought a white 1966 Chevy Biscayne with a 427 in it. After I realized what it was about it made a lot more sense. But I loved my 1967 Dodge Dart GTS with a 383, 4 bbl. Hurst 4 spd. and headers. One of a kind, even today. Too bad my dad sold it when I got shipped off to Germany.

There were a LOT of beautiful cars made back then. While I own a 1972 Chevelle, if I could have any car I wanted and still have it be a Chevy, it would be a 1957 2 door Bel Air Sport Coupe (no center post) They don't make anything now but garbage. I can think of hundreds of vintage American cars I like, and many I love, but there isn't a single car made today that I want, or would even want to be seen driving.

I had a buddy in HS who had a '68 GTX. This was like 1974-75, so this car was still in very good shape, and had been mildly "worked". It was a black-on-black beauty, nothing fancy, just a machine purpose-built to do one thing: HAUL ASS in a more or less straight line down the road. 440 Magnum with a Torqueflight. It sounded just *PISSED-OFF*, is the best way to describe it, LOL.
