I like every maker, they all have their good points. a T-cat 1000 is in the list of sled to mod.

Hey thanks for the info, I have the alignment video coming out soon and was wondering about floating it - that would be best. Thanks again - can't wait to try your clutch!

Just a couple pointers: It helps to draw a mark on the clutch shaft where the skip tooth is to help line it up with the spider skip tooth. Also, you always want to use the alignment bar if you had the motor out and "float" the secondary about .04"-.06" by adding washers to the retaining plug. Nice video.

I suggest talking to SLP for the best advice, order through First Place Parts for best pricing and shipping. They will set you up for altitude, weight, and driver style with track/power etc. They sell Team clutches so what they recommend will blow your mind.

It's tough to put the sled together in perfect series, waiting for parts to be modded and stuff to arrive - I forget why it happened that way - it just did:)

Hi. What difference does it make with a harder or looser spring? My spring on the secondary clutch is adjustable...
@abm29586 жыл бұрын
A heavier spring / setting increases the tension on the sheaves which makes them harder to open as the primary clutch shifts and pulls the belt up. This raises the engine RPM's because the primary clutch can't shift as fast.

My old formula z 670 had clutch problems after 18000 miles. It had a rebuilt engine from a year or so before and suddenly a few winters ago I would only get 80 mph out of it. It accelerated normally with great power up until 80 but it just wouldn't go any faster. We tried to rebuild the primary. New rollers, pins and springs but it still wouldn't go any faster. We didn't get to the secondary but do you think that was the problem. It had tons of balls but got stuck at 80 mph. So frustrating because it is a great machine but I couldn't get parts for it anymore and the 670s clutch was kind of hard to find. A 600cc one they said wouldn't work and the 700 and 800 primary's wouldn't work. Id like to get it going again. Any thoughts? I have a 2000 formula Z 700 now and I love it. The zx chassis is way better for handling and bumps but the 99 I swear had more balls. It would do 115 mph on an icy road where my 700 only gets about 110 mph.
