the oil is injected through little nipples into the crank case in front of each crank lobe, it just mixes with gas and lubes everything.

the bearings are sealed, the crank comes out this summer and I'll be removing the seals and drilling the oil passages.

There is a large cavity in there and it has the waterpump bearing - it needs to be filled with oil - and that is what the little bottle feeds, they do the same form the factory - fill that cavity.

Where do the hole behind the oil-pump lead to ? it must be some kind of channel separated from the crank, if it not you would fill up the crank-case ??

hmm, yes you might have a leaking seal - or the line is broken and dripping down the side of the case into the mag housing.

Went to a local part store and saw fruity scented oil by sinto. Is that any good? Could it be used to tell if your oil pump is failing. Pretty sure your sniffer aint that precise of a gauge but still...

I’m about to install my new 800R in my 2009 hill climb and my block off plate got lost in the mail. So why couldn’t I just leave the pump on ? Block off the line’s like you showed and use my existing oil reservoir ? Can i still do what you did ? Reply would be greatly appreciated and thank you

I have a question, my sled (1999 ski doo summit 600) is using way to much oil and it started right after I put a can on my sled. It is running rich because I checked the plugs and they were black. Can the can do this or is my oil pump lever sticking, or does it just need an adjustment? Thank you!

I spoke with a racer and he said 32:1 because of the timing, guys who run 40:1 and 50:1 change the timing back to trail conversion.

Came to think of something, how does the oil get transported to the combustion chamber? does the oil go directly from the nipples (which you have blinded with a hose) and into the cranck house, so it also lubricates the cranck-bearings ?

I have done this Oil deleton on my sled, but when i filled up the cavity with oil, oil start to dripping out fra the inner side of the stator, i think. Is there a limit on how much oil the bottom of the crankcase will hold, or do I have bad bearings?

Some sleds are different.

There are center seals on the crank between the center channel you fill with oil and the crank case, most likely have bad center seals or a bad bearing

I have a question. I have a 2009 Polaris iq600r it the race sled and I premix. But I mix it 32:1 is that to fat because in this video your day your mixing 50 :1

When you delete oil and pemix it... do you gotta change the jetting to allow for thicker mix to pass through your carbs? Will in not cause your motor to lean a little making it run alittle hotter? don"t know.. just asking before I do it on my 03 rev. Cheers! thanks Louis!

Drew W because a 340 is a fan engine that don't have a water pump in the bottom end for the collent of the motor the reason you still need that bottle is because you still need to have oil trough the water pump however it was designed so as the premix travels trough them motor is lubes that little part

Every pound must be really important to you if you're deleting the oil injection in favor of pre-mix!

thundercamel They did one worse, replaced a belt guard with a tiny flimsy piece of carbon fiber on the elan project. The thing was so weak it couldn't even hold its shape.

That would be the reason I do it. Reliability. Walking home really sucks and for an older machine it makes sense. Anything 10 years old and older is a concern.

I deleted mine this fall I went 2 weeks without looking at the back side of the motor of my sled and the oil pump cable got chewed up ended up blowing the motor 1st month of winter center crank bearing went then took out my top end. it's not worth it in my opinion. it's a 2010 mxz 800r BTW.. I'm happy to have premix after that BS.

One mod I would never do. So much more convenient to not have to mix your fuel. Imagine being out of gas and you still have some oil left and you manage to find gas but not oil...

Why delete the oil? I’ve had snowmobiles for 40 years. The oil injection always works. Sometimes you can adjust it if needed. It’s a complete hassle to always carry oil. Why to Save a couple pounds? A waste
