Stunning plane and amazing sound. I remember the Sudanese TAAT coming into Manchester in the 90s trailing black smoke and looking battered! Screaming engine noise as it turned when taxiing. Nice to see & hear the Air Rwanda 9XR-JA. It was always the last plane in the Civil Aircraft Markings but sadly I never got to see it.

Mean synthesizer at the beginning. Sounds like an old Prophet-5.

The sound of those B707's as they roared down the runway climbed off into the distance actually brought a chill to my spine and revived many vivid memories from my childhood. We lived under a flight path growing up in the 70's & 80's and would frequently have DC-8's & B707's roar over our neighbourhood on their takeoff climb-out at 1500-odd thousand feet. The beautiful combination of that roaring buzz-saw growl on approach followed by the deafening compressor scream of the four thundering JT3D's as the aircraft passed directly overhead billowing a trail of black smoke behind it as the house window panes rattled in their frames is an experience like no other, and one I sorely miss to this day!

A mate of mine sent me here. He was reminiscing about the old 707s and their contemporaries. 2:30 Make those houses vibrate, baby!😂

Are KC135 Stratotankers still operating? How similar are they to 707s?
@williamcap22363 жыл бұрын
@@davebellamy4867 yes the military still uses the kc135's but not the same jet engines. Same but slightly different

At first i saw 707 was CAL Dynasty’s one. After that Cathay, Air Hong Kong, Air Manila, Korean air.... But the ones that impressed me the most were Indonesia and the Australian Air Force 707.

What a great film. Those were the days, plenty of noise plenty of smoke. Wonder what the present day anti noise and anti pollution snowflakes would make of it. Give them something really to moan about. All the best.Mick.🇬🇧

can't understand why why Airports/fields etc are in line with power lines and Electric railway cables. or maybe it was the way l was looking at it or something.
@robinpinnock26787 жыл бұрын
Andrew Quirey. Having an electrified railway at the end of the runway is not ideal planning, but it's the way the airport developed. A few aircraft have skidded onto the line in the past, fortunately without serious injury, but it does provide a very convenient station for today's airport.
