And the math!! Once upon a time I was really good at it, now not so much. Good thing about this technique is if you feel like it, you can just skip the math and wing it. Make however many it makes and arrange when it's done. If you have spares you get to choose your favorites.

I LOVE THIS!!!! I 've always wanted to do a kaleidoscope but the 6 yards of fabric, half hexi rows & aligning 6 layers to cut always intimidated me. I did do a table runner and decided a full size quilt would become a UFO. But a 4 patch! I can do this! thank you And you are so right about the scale of the fabric - this is stunnung

I did not know about the dots in the selvedge edges and that is where the pattern repeats. I used that information to piece a quilt back together for a seamless appearing backing. I did struggle with matching the fabric vertically, but it turned out great for my first attempt. Thank you!

About the fullness, it does work best if the larger layer is against the feed dogs.

❤ thank you for the wonderful instructions I am thinking on trying it soon. I have several different fabrics half yard each Wondering if I could use it instead of one continuous piece of fabric 🧐🤔
@70acres Жыл бұрын
The reason you need one continuous piece is that you need 4 repeats of the fabric. So if the repeat is 24” you need 4 times of the same repeat to make the blocks. Watch my previous video, Part 1, for those instructions. Thanks for watching Patricia!
