And this is only 'popular' hits the genres out in the musical weeds really expand the tone and musical adventure of the decade. By far my favorite decade for music in every genre.

The confusion over Grease might be that the song, "Grease" was just the theme song of the movie, it wasn't actually sung by any of the characters in the movie (such as "Greased Lightning"). The movie was based on a Broadway musical that did not include the theme song "Grease", though it does tend to be included in modern performances of the musical (in fact, "You're the One that i Want", "Hopelessly Devoted to You" and maybe at least one other song were new and written for the movie and they were also added back in the musical in modern performances because audiences have grown to expect them. Modern performances also keep all of the original songs from the stage play that had been cut from the movie, except many of them had been played as background music in the movie)

I feel love and hot stuff was massive hits and was used in that film for the lads to strip to , the bee gees had many not singles from the disco time when films like Saturday night fever , stayin alive , Grease all had Bee Gees songs in them , there was a lot of one hit wonders as well , the carpenters was brother and sister , Karen carpenter had a great voice also played drums , she died from Anorexia but there songs are classic .. Doing a Billboard Top 100 or Billboard Hot 100 would also be good to check into. A number of these were one hit wonder artists. One such band with a great hit was "The Original Caste'' with the song, "One Tin Soldier", which was the theme song to the great movie, "Billy Jack", (1971). Some of the greats worth reacting to in the '70s include (but not limited to): The Carpenters, Captain & Tenielle, Olivia Newton John, Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow, and more...

And for some Canadian content try The Guess Who "These Eyes", "She's Come Undone" or "American Woman" or April Wine "Oowatanite" or "Tonight is a Wonderful Night".
