@kubaszmuro45042 жыл бұрын
@@ChristiaanHunter No, they don't. hoi4 is bugged mess with plenty of easily fixable errors which takes them loads of time to fix it or they don't even bother.(I'm no modder but I had to do my own mod to fix bad-coded research slot for Poland because Paradox overslept). Broken Free France, Vichy France, Changing Capitals, Continous Focuses, Turkish Civil War, Spoiled India Tree(stil not fixed since 2016), Collaboration regimes (puppets), etc. need not be mentioned. Unhistorical isn't playable and historical is not even close to historical. HoI4 has great potential but imo is not a good game. I can't even imagine how great this game could be if its creators would care even little about their product. (Kaiserreich and TNO devs, I am looking at you)

3:00 Overwhelming Firepower also reduces cost of infantry design by 100%... you can design new 14/4's or whatever, completely for free (apart from the support companies, of course) That said, thanx for these in-depth video's; you tought me some useful things about the naval spirits :)

Something to note: Every doctrine has an uncountrable Tactic. MW has unexpected thrust, SF has barrage, GP has well planed attack and if you go infiltration it has infiltration assult too. MA has Mass Charge (right) and relentless assult (left) ^^

I‘m glad my views do not differ with yours as much. Makes me a bit more confident when choosing the spirits but also makes me wonder if I should possibly create a little „spirit rebalancing mod“, that adds some nice and neat bonuses to the less used ones. I see a lot of potential for some of them. Bayonet strength could for example benefit to bonuses to HP, Soft Attack or perhaps even production cost! Who knows!

Proper heritage good for Russia because of the supply combat penalty on core territory
@magni56482 жыл бұрын
Grand Battleplan was IMO the big winner here overall. Theatre Training and Logistics Focus are both really, really good. (The extra terrain trait xp on Theatre Training shouldn't be underestimated - it makes it quite a bit quicker to get Adaptable on your generals.) Quick improv is also good for spamming Staff Office Plan a lot, which can allow GBP to pull some rather disgusting stuff. Also, Meticulous Preparation shouldn't be underestimated. It essentially gives you *two* extra stat rolls on level-up - you can get both the extra logistics and planning stat bonuses on the same rankup. This means your general could end up getting 5 extra stat points during each rank increase, and is a good deal more likely to get at least one bonus point each time.
@VarenvelDarakus2 жыл бұрын
good guide but one point i disagtee/from other content creators show 25% extra ground attack mission efficiency when you go "only cas" can be devastating , its so broken strategy its most likely nerfed in upcoming patch or next big patch its so broken as germany , having entire army of 10w infantry with no arty , AA , support companies , tanks , you can do world domination and conquer every nation (you build a lot cas , no figghters or bombers)
@cc07672 жыл бұрын
to be fair you can conquer the world as any half decent nation, doing it with tanls wouldnt make tanks broken, doing it with lots of arty wouldnt make arty broken. I agree CAS is too OP but thats partially because AI doesnt put support AA in its divisions when you spam cas

Gotta love Paradox and their poorly named modifiers
@dylanberger87012 жыл бұрын
paradox use an advanced algebra where the only operation is addition. subtractive modifier? nah that's an added cost reduction. multiplicative modifier? nah that's added efficiency. exponential modifier? nah that's added efficiency. (again) increasing an arbitrary base value by a flat number? nah that's added resistance to modifier cost efficiency gain penalty ratio speed equilibrium; percents, integers, and floats can be used interchangeably for the number. the implementation in the code makes it only work for cavalry on sea tiles so it doesn't matter.

What's nice is there are a few countries/paths that uniquely benefit from certain Spirits. Like Qing China really benefits from Professional Officer Corps due to its low initial War Support and the Japanese Arms decisions, while monarchist Lithuania really benefits from State Serves the Military since reforming the army lowers your Party Popularity Stability so that helps bump you back up to par.

@cc07672 жыл бұрын
I second this, especially the difference army spirits make when you have NSB changes a lot IMO. Without NSB I always go SF but the supply reduction spirit from GBP is cool
@SasafrasYT2 жыл бұрын
one thing overlooked is the "out of combat supply penalty reduction in core territory" with the cavalry spirit. the spirit is over all bad sure and cavalry is garbage yes, but that one stat is very good in its singly applicable situation which is defending on core territory with shit supply. I think it is definitely good when playing as China and maybe even russia if they get pushed back too far.

Proper heritage is kinda useful. Cavalry is best for garrison if you dont want to to spend your factories on armored Cars. And from my understanding larger template is more effective. So you can get heritage make 50 width cavalry slap mil police on it and switch heritage for something else.
@3dcomrade2 жыл бұрын
As most starting cav template is 4 batallions. It saves you 80 xp
@dfhuscarl2 жыл бұрын
You technically only need 50w cav if you're adding MP support companies, and you only need MP support companies if you are having/expecting man-power and/or gun shortages. That being said, I don't know if smaller garrison divisions suffer more attrition; it's just not something I've tested, but feels like it tho. Perhaps Cloak will cover that one day.

It's very good when playing Communist China, because everything you're attacking is core territory.

Weird Question: I recently checked the hoi4 game files to learn stuff about naval night fighting and I honestly found very litte info about that... like in regards to modifiers and such. Is there a file which covers naval night fighting modifiers or is this a case or paradox not really coding in a feature again?

How is Meticilous Preperation for Grand Battle Plan? Plan more and faster and use less supply? It gives chance to rise two levels for the general skills right? Not like either Planning "or" Logistics, it says "and". I think it might be pretty good for grand battle plan. But do you want to stop and plan when the planning runs out or outrun your supply with Bold Attack.

@71Cloak2 жыл бұрын
It should do. None of the techs specifically unlock naval invasions. They just give naval invasion capacity.
@phantom_dreamer2 жыл бұрын
I'd dare say meticulous preparation is the best, considering the painful supply restrictions imposed with NSB. Even in well supplied territory still enables you to field more units, so the attack advantage from bold attack is somewhat negated.
@magni56482 жыл бұрын
Also, meticulous prep gives you essentially TWO extra rolls on your generals' stats. During any given rankup, you absolutely can get both the bonus planning and logistics skill increases on top of your regular rolls. This can give you some pretty ludicrous stat totals if you have a general rank up multiple times while it's active.

Thanks for this and all your other great videos. Regarding this one I absolutely love using Independent Air Force to hire a genius Air Force general which saves 150pp meaning I get that guy faster than I'd otherwise get him plus I've got 150pp to spend elsewhere. The 50xp isn't even fully lost either because if I'd hard saved up for him it'd take at least 100 extra days to get the pp necessary and in the meantime he's earned me 20 air xp in 100 days. So it's more like is 30 air xp worth it to save 150pp and I think that's an easy yes. I'll buy a general or two with relief of command and have 50-100pp towards getting a design company faster than I'd otherwise do so.

I've played the World Ablaze mod as Germany. Kind of hated it. Why do you take attrition moving into forests. Why does motorizing a single supply hub cost 500 trucks when everything in the mod already costs more. I mean I still manage to Sealion, so its not something that can't be overcome but still, the mod isn't fun. There are a ton of other mods that do it better. From Total War to Black Ice or Ultra Mod. Hell even Expert AI.
