I'll be 68 in a few weeks. I go to the gym 3 days a week. I try to get 10,000 steps a day and I dance and do aerobics around my house nearly every day. I too feel like I did in my thirties. My dad is 93 and walks 10,000 steps a day. He doesn't walk like an old man. Just keep moving.

God bless you and your dad! My dad is 78 and can run circles around me and I’m only 49 years old. I’ve struggled with health issues most of my life and when I fired my doctors, took my health into my own hands, found Jesus and started reading the Bible and learning our true God given super powers, I’m now healed. 4 incurable diseases are cured. I feel better now than I did in my teens and twenties, praise God!

Hope you're still working on your fitness journey. Consistency is the key - whether you feel like it or not. I posted my goals on my dresser's mirror and fridge and daily journal to always remind me WHY I was doing this.

I'm so happy that you're inspired. I'd like to share the advice someone gave me when I started "rebuilding" my body... "JUST KEEP GOING because weeks, months and then a year from now, you will be AMAZED at the difference." Gillian, I learned that consistency is THE KEY! After a few weeks, I was so excited and WANTED to keep going because I could feel my body's strength and balance improving. I did NOT want to stop! I wish the same for you too.

Dianne, this is so critical! We don’t want to have to be depending on people to care for our bodies in our older age. To be in a hospital bed in diapers pushing a button & waiting for hours for someone to change you or developing bed sores that can end your life! The misery! Seeing a friend of mine go through it now! I did everything I could to get her to change her life the past two years & now, I don’t believe she will ever be going back to a normal life but totally brought on because she let food & the couch consume her! Inactivity is a KILLER! Get moving now! Do not saddle your children with this burden! Almost never too late! God bless, love & peace!

That is the trap of older age. We've been conditioned to accept our limitations. But the reality is that age is actually just a number. The muscle responds to conditioning. The more we move, the more our body becomes more agile, flexible and day after day life becomes easier. Never give up!

I teach yoga to this demographic and the results are miraculous. It started with my father, 86 at the time and couldn’t get out of a chair on his own..30 days later he was doing 18 holes on the golf course. He’s now 92, still doing yoga and still going strong. I teach to all ages but the core of my classes are over 65 and my oldest student is 100. Love them.

The best advice she said is “being her age you have to keep moving otherwise you joints will lock up” I’m 50 now and oh boy I believe her 100%. God Bless Her!

I keep telling everyone that Yoga is wonderful! I'm 61 and have a desk job. When I go to yoga class, I can feel my muscles stretching out and it feels SOOOO good. I can see my strength building from holding yoga poses and my balance getting better. When I get home, I feel much more relaxed which makes my sleep better. I also do "Yoga with Adriene". She is amazing, easy to follow, and she just did a 30-day challenge. YOU can do it!

I'm in my early 40s and my motivation to workout regularly is always 70-80 year old me. That me will thank "young" me for putting in the work. Movement is so important.

Yeah. I'm 77 and work out 3X a week. One hour. 32 separate events including stretches, planks, squats, treadmill and weights. Joined a gym last year. Stairs are not a problem for me. Neither is operating a chain saw. I will never quit.

My Mother does workout everyday at 6 in the morning. At half past seven she goes to work! She is a radiologist in the military hospital in Budapest! She is 82 years old! Doctor since 18th of September 1967. I was born on the 25th. She is a wonderful person, doctor and Mother and I am so proud of her! Love You MOM!!!❣️🤗

I needed to see this! Thank you! I was in the best shape of my life and woke up one day and could hardly get out of bed, that was 16 years ago. I have felt 80 since, I am now 54. Everything hurts from head to toe. Dr’s now just tell me their isn’t anything more they can do and to accept it and learn to deal with it. They say Fibromyalgia, arthritis, bone spurs, pinched nerves in my neck and back, disc degeneration in my neck and back. I have tried everything possible over the years medically. Went into a deep depression, started drinking more and eating badly and have put on 50 lbs. I have zero strength. I work from home and rarely leave the house I am so ashamed of my appearance. It scares the hell out of me. I will start as you did with the bed exercises. Thank you for the kick in the butt I needed. I can’t live in this pit of misery anymore ❤ you are an inspiration.

@@rlynnpierce2166 you are so kind. I have done a float tank once about 5 years ago. I loved it! Thank you for the reminder!, it’s about 30 minutes away in another town, but doable. I hope it helps you! Sure is relaxing. I am doing ok, had surgery for a bone tumor in March and have my last PT visit tomorrow. Getting around better with less pain walking. So things are improving. PLEASE google Dr Joe Dispenza…. Start watching his videos and go to one of his gatherings… YOU CAN HEAL YOURSELF! Do NOT listen to the doom n gloom of the medical world. I am now 61. I’ve had 19 surgeries, had fibromyalgia, arthritis and had a NASTY back surgery that failed, was 135 overweight, could barely move. I gave up all dairy, then slowly meat and ALL PROCESSED food. Start by eating CLEAN, Organic WHOLE FOODS! that’s easy…I am not quite to my goals but in 8 months I lost 80lbs, and started walking, then just recently added DDPY… meanwhile I climbed a mountain in Ecuador! Not like Mt Everest, but I climbed from 5,700 ft all the way to 10,000 ft with only walking sticks and my own body….if I can do THAT, YOU can come back to a Healthy, Active body! Trust me, if you can have an open mind, Dr Joe Dispenza and Diamond Dallas will get you back to the land of the LIVING! Start with 1 of Dr Joe’s books, Becoming Supernatural…or one of his other books ….I’m 100% behind you! You CAN HEAL !

I'm 62 and been sick for a long time (auto immune issues) and spending a lot of that time in bed to exhausted and in pain to move. This year I am determined no matter what the pain to get to a point where I can get off the floor by myself and be able to play with my 5 year old grandson. I have joined a gym and started slowly on the treadmill to walk (it's too hot outside given it is summer in Australia). This lady has given me the inspiration to know that I can do it.

I had at auto immune disease in late 20's lost the ability to climb stairs. Was running in 3 months pain free, back to normal, some take longer. Mannatech is the company, ambrotose is the product. If you order I suggest calling, my friend spent 2 hours trying to order on line.

I am 70 and also have autoimmune flare ups that keep me in bed. With my illness I have to rest when my body needs it and not over do. That will just set me back further. When I feel better I just start back again and take it slow but consistently. It isn't a competition! You can do it. Also one tip that helps me is I got a Garmin watch that tracks energy. If it shows arrow down I rest which helps me as I always was a person to over do and push myself. It also helps to get plenty of sleep. Sleep is key for me to stay active. Good luck

I also have an autoimmune illness. Am 60 soon. Have recently completely changed my diet: only eating REAL food. ( ie. Cutting out all packaged/ processed foods and especially where there are sugar and plant oils added. Olive, coconut and avocado oils and honey and maple syrup are allowed though) Trying to keep to natural foods and it has made a MASSIVE difference! The first change was my sleep! And much less pain. Am now working on the physical training. I still have to rest etc often, but truly feel like a different woman. And its rare these days hubby hears what used to be a constant refrain: I’m so TIRED! :) Do hope you succeed!

Such an inspiration. I started exercising at 53 after being sedentary my whole life and weighing in at 205 lbs. Both my mother and grandmother were tiny women, but had to use walkers by the time they were 70. I'd already been diagnosed with degenerative bone disease in my spine after my mother passed in 2014 and I knew that being heavy and sedentary would only exacerbate my issues. I wasn't motivated, however until Nov 2019 while at the doctor's for pre-menopausal issues (oh those are fun!) and I stepped on the scale that I had a complete breakdown and decided right then I was done. I started eating healthy and exercising....a little at a time. I'd purchased a HIIT program and shelved it, convinced I'd never be able to do those moves and so I rode a stationary bike and did a few strength training exercises. I began to shed the weight and get stronger and in 9 months lost almost 90 lbs. I incorporated those HIIT exercises and now do them with ease. My husband was a constant source of support, but he became ill in April 2021 and after being informally diagnosed in early May with liver cancer, then formally after a biopsy on May 11...he passed away on May 19 of 2021. It was a rare and unbelievably aggressive cancer that took him within weeks of his diagnosis. Needless to say my world was shattered. My foundation was shaken to its core. There was no time to even process that he had cancer and he was gone. I was widowed at 55 years old. He was my constant source of support and instead of crawling in a hole and giving up...I continued to do those workouts. I pushed on and kept working out every day. It's what kept me going. Thinking about his constant praise and encouragement...cheering me on. I apologize for the long winded ramble, but my point is that exercise and maintaining my health have truly changed my life. It's kept me positive during those lonely, grief stricken moments when I could have so easily given up. You are such an inspiration Dianne. You show it's never too late and with hard work, consistency and a can-do attitude, you really can accomplish anything. Congratulations and keep up the great work. I can tell you feel as fantastic as you look!

Thank you for sharing your story and choosing life and health. My brother in law passed away from brain cancer 6 weeks after his diagnosis. My sister never recovered and did not chose life. May you be ever blessed.

I'm still grieving 19 months later and at times the grief can be unbearable, but I have my children, grandchildren and a wonderful support system and I want to be here and present for them for as long as I can, so for me there is no other choice. I also know that exercise will release "feel good" endorphins and help with my mood and outlook. So aside from the physical benefits, which are invaluable, exercise is so beneficial for one's mental and emotional health as well. Blessings to you as well. ❤

Great inspirational story, Your account would inspire many people, not a ramble. I'm 73, have no pain , ( praise the lord) Eat healthy, and exercise. I enjoy exercising. I read a book by Dr John Dalton, It changed my approach to exercise, I used to do the no pain no gain.. Now I exercise in a relaxing way.. Totally transformative

@@cymbelinebritain6799 I think grieving never goes away, but somehow just becomes a part of ourselves, something like that. My son took his own life at 32 years old in 2015, and some days……. I honor your strength, your heart and your courage. May light grow ever brighter.

You are a wonderful inspiration for this 70 year old who has just resumed resistance workouts. I was athletic in my 50s and early 60s, but then let it slip away. Recently I shook myself awake and started losing weight and workin out again as if......... MY LIFE MATTERS. Complaining doesn't get it done. We have to want it enough to do the work. Your video is a gift to many others who are on the fence, or worse, letting life slip away. Thank you.

Congratulations on your awakening! And thank you for your comment because I thought what a coincidence that you mentioned "others who are on the fence" because that was ME "on the fence". It took me 1.5 years after I saw Arthur's video before I made the commitment to do this program EVERY DAY. And, it was because of the encouragement I received from those in the DDPY private Facebook that pushed me "OFF THE FENCE" to do this program. After my younger sister watched this video 4 times and cried, she said she was going to start back exercising because, "Tomorrow may be too late."

I’m a private caregiver. The last client I helped out was only 74 when she passed away last August. She beat 2 cancers. Was cancer free. But then she gave up. Stopped moving, walking, etc. She could have kept at it and kept moving her body if she really truly wanted to, but she just simply stopped. Slowly she physically deteriorated. When I first met her she was using a walker, in the end she couldn’t stand on her own at all and then became bedridden, then passed. It was sad and frustrating to watch. She gave up. Please keep moving your body, no matter what age. Start now, it’s not too late. ☮️

Oh, Beth... What a sad story, but important one to remember. After my younger sister said she watched this video 4 times and cried, she called a few days later and said she was going to start back exercising because, her word were: "Tomorrow may be too late."

I appreciate stories like this that tell me I am doing the right thing for myself. My wife died from a heart attack about a year ago and my belief is it was largely due to not taking her health issues seriously. In January, I was informed at 60 that I was at risk for many of the usual old fart issues, but the Dr. realized I was motivated to not just fix it with prescriptions if there were better ways. She said to come back in 3 months for another blood test. With exercise and eating better I have gotten most of those risk factors under control, lost 40 pounds and have been told to keep doing whatever I am doing. I am fortunate in that I have a physical activity I enjoy and have done most of my life, cycling. So I cut out all the crap, rode my bicycle more and have been educating myself and making small changes one at a time. The small changes add up. My goal is to grow up to be a badass old man. Thanks for the additional motivation.

I turned my health around when I got a diabetes and very high cholesterol diagnosis at 64. I started walking every day, quit alcohol and sugar and became a vegetarian. Lost 60 pounds. Normal labs for two years now. I used to have literally no self control. It took awhile to change my habits but eventually you do. So, people, if I can do it, anyone on this planet can do it. You won’t believe how much more energy you will have. It was a new life for me. God bless this lady!

I'm 75 and do a short set of back exercises every morning, they really just keep me limber, but I can still do a lot of things others my age can't. The Bible says we are "wonderfully made" and that is so true but when you age you have to keep using those wonderful parts.

Your an inspiration I'm 69 turning 70 soon. I started doing yoga@57 totally changed my life. I didn't realize how flexible I was neither did my teachers😄. I now have vertigo,sciatica I adjusted my practice. I now also lift weights. Prayers Blessings to all💜

Beautiful! I'm 80 and a veteran, but overweight and sedentary. I was 250+ lbs and got under 200 just by logging food. To go on and drop another 50 AND walk and do those squats -- Dianne's video is hugely inspiring for that. Many thanks!

Know that IF you try EVERY DAY, you CAN do it too! Due to lung surgery in Nov, I can only walk till I recover, but I can burn 250 calories during 30 min walking in place watching TV or around the house. I wear a heart rate monitor and DDPY app tracks what I do. Wish you much success as you work on dropping that 50.

Mimi Routh - good for you! Just as an aside... you've got to combine resistance training with yiur calorie deficit weightloss strategy. If you don't, at least 25% of the weight lost will be muscle and lean body tissue (it's not only fat we are losing in a calorie deficit diet.) It's just a fact. Protect your muscles (and I don't mean just for 'looks) - muscle is a living organism, a metabolic organ. Healthy muscle sends metabolic signals to every part of the body. Skeletal muscle is especially important to maintain. As we age. Walking is good, but resistance training is -well...it's just imperative, in order to stay healthy and strong.

@@diannekusztoswilson3499 She lost 50lbs, logging food, not 250! Also, doubt very much you are expending 250 Kcals in a 30m walk in place activity. Unless you are very heavy; walking up a grade for the full 30m, or very fast...to a jog. Tracking apps and devices are notoriously inaccurate in both the Kcal count in foods, as well as their readout of Kcals burned with activity. This is unfortunate, because so many use these tracking devices & apps, but can ultimately be misled by them. They can be off by as much as a 30% margin of error.

What a nice video. I'm a 62-year-old woman caring for my 92-year-old mother. I am building a house by myself. Almost completed I've had wonderful people step in and teach me and help me. I have lupus and I get up and go at it everyday. Sometimes I get tired I just take an extra day rest and get back at it. I will look into this cuz once the house is finished I will be staying active. I started ballet 5 years ago at 47. I take 90 minute classes 3 times a week and a couple of shorter classes every week too. I feel stronger, more flexible and yes more confident. I sometimes feel silly spending this much time and money when I'll (clearly) never be a professional ballerina. BUT my quality of life is so much better and I don't suffer from many of the chronic aches and pains of aging AND I love it--the music, the creativity, the storytelling. It's never too late to start, re-start, or change directions. Do it! Your future self will thank you!

Ballet improves balance, muscle control and flexibility. My sibling, when he retired, went back to studying ballet. I am also a former dancer, but I was more into jazz. I do Physique 57 (very dance oriented because the trainers are either dancers or retired dancers. Brooke frequently mentions the Horton technique due to her training at Alvin Ailey) and Pilates because they appeal to me more as a dancer.

If you're not caring for your health in an optimal way, 47 is a hella different from 37. Twenty years ago whoi could've made a list of inflammatory foods. And only recently have we identified the handful of markers that will engender or take down s person's health. If a woman is not actively engaged in consistent load-bearing activity most will feel it even at that young age.

Fair play to her. She came back from being old to being much younger. She's right you've got to keep moving or else you lock up and it just happens nearly overnight.. you get stiff and begin to loose your balance easily and just can't do simple things. It creeps up on you and suddenly one day we wake up old. She's an inspiring woman.

I really wish I could convince more people to commit to daily activity at their own pace and help them experience first-hand the enormous difference it makes to quality of life. You can see this woman took good care of herself, maybe she didn't exercise in a way to keep her muscles strong, but she did take care of herself. We can see this in how her skin looks. So she had a head start. She is an awesome example of how important it is to eat right and care for your skin. Made regaining her strength and muscles easier and quicker than it would for many who've never put any effort into their healthcare. I love seeing her shine brighter than she already did.

Thank you! When in my 30s I tried to follow instructions in a book a friend gave me, "Eat to Live, Not Live to Eat." In my late 60's, I had a health issue and did not exercising what so ever and my muscles began to atrophy. I learned that "Use it, or lose it" is so true!

I’ve watched so many of DDPY videos but this one, for me was sending me a powerful message. I’m “young” at 47 but I’m severely overweight after years of neglect and abuse and I am reliant on mobility frames and scooters. I’m not going to lie, I’ve given up. This remarkable Lady has just brought me a very powerful message and I’m going to grab it with both hands and start *NOW.* I’m in pain 24/7 and pop pain killers like they’re sweets. It’s painful to just walk to the kitchen, so I know it’s going to be painful to do DDPY, *BUT* the “pain” of doing DDPY will only be *temporary* and I’ll get stronger with each day and I’ll be able to get my life back. I don’t know this Lady but I do believe she’s just saved me. *THANK YOU.”* You *are* AMAZING. xxxxx

It means so much to know that my experience has helped you to believe you can get going and own your life! You are still so young. When I was your age I'd never thought about the prospect of having surgery when I was older. I'd not stayed in a hospital overnight since my daughter was born 40 years ago. BUT last year at age 72, I had a 5-day hospital stay after parts of my lung were removed due to a fungus. I was fortunate to have a family member stay with me 24/7 those 5 days & nights, but because I'd spent the previous 2-years working on regaining my strength and balance ability, I can't tell you how independent I felt because I could get up from my hospital bed and slowly walk to the bathroom instead of having to use a bed pan. During my home recovery, I again learned "use it, or lose it" because after a period of limited activity it almost felt like I was starting over to regain the strength and balance of my youth once again. But now, I'm bouncing back thanks to a thing called Muscle Memory and working out daily again. So please go for it, and TAKE BACK YOUR LIFE while you're still so young!

Amazing…good for you!! In 2020 I decided to retire when the pandemic started.. I was 72, fairly fit (I was a weight lifter in my younger days… now a constant walker. My job required me to be on my feet all day. ) I think I got into a depression, and I absolutely despised myself for playing a victim. But most of my exercises and self-care fell to the wayside. A few months ago I finally went in for my check up and found out I had osteoporosis. I blamed myself for giving up, too much drinking, too much sugar, and no self-respect. That day changed my life… boom.. done being a victim. I have myself to blame, so I was going to be the one to do the work to fix this. I completely cleaned up my diet and started researching exercises, started walking with intention and building up stamina with a weighted vest, and no longer taking myself for granted. My strength improved daily! Just recently I started Dr Fishman yoga for osteoporosis…. Just incredible how I felt after day one! Now I’m starting DDP yoga to help build my strength. Sarcopenia is a killer of the elderly… and this helps with the muscle wasting. I do balance work and can put on my pants and socks standing on one leg! My wall sits went from 15 seconds …slowly building now to 90 seconds. I stand taller, walk more purposefully and feel better after making myself a priority. Women need to stop saying “ I put everyone else first”…. No one wants to hear that and no one cares! No one wants to take care of you if you just let yourself go…. I realized I was making MYSELF a burden. I was thrilled watching this video and the stumbling start … oh my! I felt such anger! How did I let myself get like this? I had to watch videos on how to get up from the floor! Now, after a few months, I’m able to stand up without assistance. Nothing feels as good as self respect. At almost 76 I’m in the best shape I’ve been in years…and this is after only a few months! I love that this does not require a gym as there is none near me and would be another excuse. The only issue was the start…Life changed!

I'm crying. You're so inspirational. I'm 56, I fainted in my bathroom, hit a marble countertop with my right arm and snacked the floor hard with my left shoulder. I felt like a paraplegic, not able to work, drive or dress myself suddenly. Previously I was working 12 to 16 hour days. I had a rod inserted in my arm. My arm felt like cement. I realized I need to rebuild my health. You're my inspiration 💛

72 really isn’t very old. My friends and I didn’t have such limitations at that age. Now, at 82 we are beginning to have a few problems , and are slowing a little. So we need to keep doing and start using these exercises, plus eat a lot of vegetables. One friend is 91 and still plays golf twice a week.

My good friend, Mary Madhavi, runs Yogamobility here in South Wales. She looks like she's in her late 40's, but she's 74, and she puts it down to yoga after having a severe car crash. She's amazing. I think you're amazing too. I have been exercising every day for the last 4-5 years, and I'm slowly getting better. You've just given me another kick up the bottom to crack on and never give up. I discovered that each time my body did something that I didn't think it could do, I enjoyed that feeling of achievement and got hooked on challenging myself to do more. Bravo! I love how she persevered for a year to get to the newest version of herself! It's like physical Kaizen- little continual improvements. I teach balance to seniors (I'm in my 60's) and so many people simply quit moving because it hurts. Oddly, the more you move the less it hurts and the better you feel!

I'm so sorry you're having pain f8fulyurs. l don't understand how this happens, but I've known people who experienced intense pain for years, but their pain was alleviated after doing this program. Keep in mind that this fitness program allows us to modify the exercises. That's what I did and eventually gained strength to do entire workouts without modifying. Whatever you do, just do something to keep yourself moving. After my my younger sister saw this video, she called to say that she wanted to start back exercising because, "Tomorrow may be too late."

I’m 70 - I’m a retired beledi dancer & have been doing a yoga exercise routine every day for decades. If I miss a day I feel awful (which wasn’t so true even 10 years ago). I also walk a couple miles a day (a 45 minute walk). It’s so important to keep up your muscle tone as you age!

This is the absolute reason I go the gym 4 times a week, I am in my 50s and don’t want to slow down, she is fantastic 👏👏 and life in your 60s 70s and even 80s doesn’t have to be a physical struggle. If you’re able to you should look after your body for your own future

12:58 AM …just watched your video and this has motivated me! Both my husband and I have had health challenges ( on top of being quarantined during Covid like so many have been) and I have seen both of us slowing down and getting Way out of shape! I am 66 and he is 71… and we have always said that age is just a number! Well, it is…but you are correct that you have to work to keep the body moving and in better shape. So- I have a “chair yoga” program to follow so we both can start out safely. It’s exciting to see & hear from someone who saw an issue, didn’t like where they were physically and made the decision to do something about it!

Just what I needed. I'm 63 with fibro and have lost a lot of flexibility after suffering viral rheumatoid arthritis about 20 years ago. I had started feeling old. Frustrated by the pain and stiffness. I love yoga. Going to try harder to practice each day no matter what. God bless you for sharing.

I am also 72 and walk at least 45 minutes a day on some easy trails with trekking sticks and my upper body, posture and arms are all in better shape...my torso is tightening up just using these sticks EVERY day. NOW I want to do THIS because my legs don't want to go up hill or stairs. My hips are wearing out. You're a wonder! An inspiration. PERFECT choice of songs also! LOVE this. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing your journey of rejuvenation. At 73, my enthusiasm and appetite for exercise, swim, gym, and Pilates has waned, and over the last three months I have stacked on about 6 kilos (13 lbs) around the gut. Today starts a 10 day work break and your video is a message to just "do the work" and get back on track. Well done and thank you for sharing.

I am 76 and began yoga at 21 years old. I had a knee injury in 2015 that changed my perfect balance and ability to walk up and down stairs. I waited and waited for my knee to naturally get back to normal. It never did. My good knee was taking on added stress to walk up and down stairs. I had to do what this lady did-- daily exercise and total focus on physical health to reclaim my fitness. You can be more fit at 80 than 70 if you get moving. Your body is forgiving and welcomes you back to better times.

Turned 75 in August.... had the same trouble getting up from chairs.... decided to do what I call "Assisted Squats" .... I grab the kitchen sink (for balance) and do a set of squats. I do the exercise UNTIL I feel some pain, then quit. I started off doing about five or so. I am now up to twenty. Standing is no longer an issue. I'm now doing push ups with the same principle: I'm starting with knee push ups, gradually moving to full push ups. She's doing it right!!

I am 65, have 3 of my 5 3rd gen adopted kids at home still. I loved seeing this! We swim, walk, got to the park and playground. I recently had issues with SI, I am exercising and refusing to let it be my head ache.; this was encouraging because surely we all have to fight it and not give in to it!!! I don't have stairs in my house but I do at the playground, I go up and down while the kids are swinging!!!

Awesome job, its good to see older people taking better care of themselves. I'm 66yrs old started yoga 7yrs ago, since then I've went to two different teacher trainings which were a blast, I had taught at a few studios but now, I love to practice it's the bestest thing I ever did for myself.

Loved it, congratulations, I will be 74 on Jan 5th and have worked out (serious resistance training) 5-6 days a week since 1969, I added 30 mins of basic yoga about 10 years ago. I made shitloads of bad decisions in my life, however, staying fit makes up for them all. I am not "age-related invisible" in any way. I get kudos from the young when I tell them how old I am and can still flirt and have a positive response.

I just turned 74 on Dec. 12...and like you have been on a modest workout program since college..(my weight is the same as in high school)..but experiencing sarcopenia now...the pump I use to get from curls lasts about 15 minutes lol...the question I have for you any dietary changes any HRT? Do you still have "morning wood" or "mourning wood"...lol

@@bogee4u No HRT, as tempted to a shortcut as I was I just feel it is not truly safe. Morning and nightly wood are daily occurrences, I am blessed both with"lead in the pencil" and someone attractive to write to. My diet has long been excellent, high protein. low carbs and zero processed or junk food, however, in the last few years, I have followed a daily 18-hour fasting regime. The other notable thing which I believe has been very positive is a daily creatine dose.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'll be 73 in 10 days. On my 72 birthday I told myself, "accept your limitations". My answer to myself was, "why?" It's taken me a year to get up out of a chair with my arms crossed across my chest. Now I'm walking 2 miles and want to increase. I've started working with 2 pound weights. Next, a step counter. I believe the key is to stay hopeful and never stop.

The best part about this is knowing how much more fun and time she'll have with kids/grandkids now being more active. Just being able to go out on walks with them is a wonderful thing :)

You made me cry because I can so relate! Sadly I told my doctor I was not motivated to change. When I got home I thought about his response and I understood it was because every time I lost 5 pounds, I gained it back plus numerous autoimmune related issues! Oh, Vee... You made me smile! Yes, many in my generation were more fortunate to enjoy their youth spent outdoors without the distractions of today's techie gadgets. But after most of our adult lives may have bee spent working sedentary jobs inside buildings, it may take us a while to wake up and realize that IF we want to enjoy the rest of our lives, we may need to reactivate the muscles we ‘had’ in our youth.

Love your video. Very inspirational. I’m 67 and get 10,000 steps in every day. I still do cardio, light weights, and yoga. Right now I have plantar fasciitis and has slowed me down. Everyone in the comments are absolutely right if you don’t get up and move your joints will stiffen and it’s so hard to get around. Also very important tip. There are exercises on you tube on how to practice getting up off the floor. These are important in case one falls. Best of luck to all and thankyou for sharing your story❤

My mother had the same thing after her heart attack. She needed a lifter upper chair and we had to instal special devices for her toilets to help her off. Today she is doing Aquafit and she is able to pick something up off the ground and wants me to help her get a "normal" chair in her living room. She is very proud of what she has accomplished. Thank you for sending this very important message to the world. If you are ready try to get up off the floor without arms or hands. We should all be learning how to get back up from a fall.
