@DT-gun3 жыл бұрын
The lower voltage is theoretically more efficient from what I've been told in the drone world. But efficiency is relative if your roosting on it. Endurance-wise, watt-hours to watt-hours a lower voltage setup will go further.The reason being that the fets on the speed control hold the current on each fet longer and arent switching as much so you gain more push from every pulse. The exception would be if the battery is running hot. Cool thing about higher voltage is you get more working watts at lower amp draw therefore you can run lower C cells and carry higher energy density cells in the same given space without worrying about over working them.

Nice ride. I think I run just as well with 60v setup on BAC4000 though :) I run 12KW, 430 phase amps, 52t sprocket. It rips like an animal, always traction limited, not power.
@EdwinOlding3 жыл бұрын
I believe it! My next build is going to be a 60v And I plan on doing a lot of comparison videos. The main thing you get with the 72 V and 8000 is more efficiency but depending on the weight and rider style that could probably be canceled out pretty easy
@electroendurodiary3 жыл бұрын
@@EdwinOlding higher voltage only enables higher RPMs on the motor. When you are spinning on lower RPMs, phase voltage is determined by the motor and doesn't depend on the battery voltage. Main gain with BAC8000 is that you get up to 860 phase amps, which translates into 2x the max torque that BAC4000 provides, and you get this advantage on both 60 and 72v at lower RPMs.

No, I’ve been at half the full throttle for almost an hour and it was warm to the touch but that was about it. I have friends with 72volts that I’ve had it wide open in the sand for a full battery with no problems. Pretty soon I will have a screen that shows motor temp So I will make a video about that when it comes
@coscifi33743 жыл бұрын
Couldn’t you bring your stock battery with you as a spare whilst using the 72V to increase the range? Or would the weight be too much?
@matthewsullivan63632 жыл бұрын
Can’t use 72v & 60v. Would burn out the battery as when you buy the upgraded controller it’s tuned to draw 72v or 60v depending on which battery you get.

With the upgrades you have what is the approx total price of the bike ??? I would like a suron but would need the upgrades to make it worth it .... so with bike and upgrades I'm assuming I'd be looking at the 10 thousand dollar range??
@nxdboi3 жыл бұрын
Probably more like 7-8.5k range, depending how far he went with non power upgrades.
@EdwinOlding3 жыл бұрын
No the damage wasn't that bad. Because the stock controller and battery are still worth a lot let's say you spend $2,700 on the upgrades but then you have a brand new battery and controller from the stock bike that you can sell for 1500. I will do a full video on this once I finish my build and get everything tuned up but power brakes and if you're tall handlebars and then you're good to go
