I am restoring my 1973 Ranchero :) its been in the family since 1973 :) I bought it used with 20,000 miles on it in 1973, it had over 400,000 miles on the original engine and the heads have never been off of it, I replaced the timing chain every 100,000 miles, I felt sorry for the engine and Overhauled it :) .030 over for a 306, I rebuilt the C4 trans at about 100,000 miles, put a mild shift kit in it and that lasted for about 150,000 miles :) I am doing a total over haul on the ranchero, front end bushings, tie rod ends, springs Etc, Rebuilding the trans with a Transco heavy duty shift kit, and a 2500 RPM Stall speed Torque Converter, rebuilding the diff. and putting in 3,55 gears and posi, Repainting the Ranchero and spraying the Bed with a Rino Coat Lining, It should be a fun Truck to drive again :) when I am Done with it.

Use a AIR Chisel with a blunt tip and set up a vibration on Rusted Bolts after you spray them with a penetrating oil to loosen them up. I am a Retired Female Fleet Equipment Mechanic with over 50 Years of Experience turning Wrenches :)
