Just an FYI, STD altimeter *does* work on the 737-Max, you just have to hold left click then right click simultaneously on the STD button. It's a bit counter intuitive without the cursor tips enabled.

I can't recommend their virtual course enough. There are a lot of videos on youtube on how to fly 737, but when two actual 737 instructors explain things to you in great details it's completely different - I've learnt so much. And thank you for this stream, guys!

I really hope Microsoft take this kind of content in a positive and constructive way to help refine this simulator as far as it can possibly go. I can't think of a single way for them to improve the accuracy of this better than real, experienced pilots giving step-by-step feedback on every intricate detail. For some of the buttons that "dont work" like the STD barometer, in '24 you now need to hold left click and then right click on the knob/button in question. (I havent watched the whole video)

DUAL COOLING is the best function that we have in the A320 NEO family. As former 737 pilot, I don’t miss it at all. 737 is already a piece of museum, no matter how new fancy screen the put in the max.

I will get the Pro course someday (I just upgraded my PC setup in order to play MSFS 2024) but in the meantime I would absolutely LOVE to see more flight sim content like this from Petter and Ben on this channel! Having real world pilots go through real airline procedures adds so much incredibly valuable context and realism to our home simulators! IRL the slow start times of the GE and PW GTF engines are why when pushing back I give the crew the ok to start as soon as the MLG wheels touch the line. It cuts about two minutes off the time I have to wait for them to give the ok.

I remember watching planes at MSP, and one day the wind was nasty. Lots of windshear alerts. About every 3rd plane was going around. We were listening to the ATC, and it was pretty funny. Seemed like the pilots were enjoying the wind. For example: One pilot landed and said "whoa!! That was fun!". ATC just laughed! :-)

Concord had an engine parameter called 'debow' to ensure the shafts were straight. It was done after engine start, but at a sub idle condition (debow mode selected by the FE on his panel) before running the engine up to idle once out of debow mode. I find a lot of the medium cargo missions will put too much weight in the tail making for a plane that just wants to go nose up on takeoff. Would be nice if the developers just added a load balancing mini-game for cargo missions to help stabilize the plane, then I could only blame myself for a bad take off...

Great video. I know that the PW pure power geared turbo-fan engines had teething problems due to thermal management causing delayed turn around times - looks like while these have been improved, there is still an issue. How does this compare with the CFM Leap engine options? Does flight simulator allow the choice of both airframe and engine combinations?

Had to laugh at the comments about the MAX startup time. I work on the ramp and we handle both MAX and NG's. Countless times Ive been in the same scenario where we're waiting for the MAX to startup so we can pushback.

So in summary, this thing isn't ready to be safely flown on Vatsim yet. I'm sure over time, it will get better. Just don't be "That Guy" who creates a burden and holds up everyone else because your buggy plane/sim is having issues. Do us a favor and disconnect from network. It's just common courtesy. Just like you wouldn't want someone to spawn on top of you at your gate. I hope Asobo fixes these issues quickly.

Reading all about all the MSFS issues while listening to the video and I can't believe that they don't offer a full download option for the game. I was interested in buying it, but my Internet is not fast but I can download all I want, so I wouldn't have a problem downloading 200+GB over a week but I'm not going to sit and wait every time I want to play the game. Made even crazier that Microsoft, which has its own cloud provider, Azure, and they can't load balancer and autoscale their servers to meet demand for a newly released game.

Man, the graphics on the ground look pretty poor in 2024 - almost to the level of X-Plane 12. The servers must not be loading well, and it is running on default loading. If only MSFS 2020 flight models were as accurate as the X-Plane (or even MSFS-X) are. What was the runway heading again? 268 or 269? What type of sim hardware (yoke, rudder pedals, throttle quadrant, peripherals) are y'all using?

Wow, this frame rate and the instantaneous resolution when you pan are both terrible. I see the resolution improves after a while. Is this typical for MSFS? Or is this hardware limited, or due to the streaming technology? I am currently flying an E190 in XP12 at 3440x1440 resolution and 60fps and it doesn't matter how fast I look around, the cockpit is sharp. I use an i714700K and RTX3070. I have not used any recent MSFS, I was disappointed too many times in the past. Try not to take the question as a personal attack. Did he say he can't set the transponder? This is confirming what I expect, the outside looks great, but the inside doesn't work so well. I usually fly Toliss A320neo or A321XLR inside the US and B763 or B772 for international flights. I am used to all systems being modeled. A lot of people use the Zibo 737-800 which is supposed to be very good too, and is a free add-on. Navigraph planning is Simbrief isn't it? Same company now. I have been a subscriber for years and it was game changing.

The frame rate and resolution is due to the new streaming technology they have, in msfs2020 the frame rate and resolution was mostly dependent on your own pc specs.

What comes across from this video is that the cockpit graphics are underwhelming, despite what they say. Strange colours on the PFD and a distinct lack of crispness on the whole panel. Motion is stuttery and the scenery looks washed out and blurred. Not a good advert for FS2024. FS2020 delivers much sharper content and the cockpit lighting is very much better.

MSFS 2024 is boring, I bought the aviator edition and its missing the flight simulator feel and more a grind daily to get anywhere game.... Theres no reason why we cant free play missions, also half the buttons in the cockpit dont work in most aircraft. dont buy the expensive version if you get it. the invuilt aircraft and cockpits are garbage.

Well it's Microsoft... the small indie game company that charges everyone the premium price to beta test thier games. So far every video I have seen of FS2024 has given me a nagative view of the game, not sure I will bother with it
