True, it looked like he started to flare at 1:14, but he soon drops nose back down at 1:17. Just a thought maybe the Runway isn't that long which would explain the shallow approach and use of the full length of the runway. When landing normally you would aim the aircraft 1/4 down the runway to ensure rear wheels don't go rough.

no it doesnt. it prevents the plane from flipping do to a crosswind. ( the plane wont actually flip but a wing strike is possible).

This looks like it is from an old video called "747 Pilot's Eye View" filming Peoplexpress flights in the mid-1980s.

question:can i know how you enter to the cockpit to shoot this down??As I know,we can't enter the cockpit,can't we???
@saulpilot18 жыл бұрын
Hi, of course this video is real! from 747's cockpit.
@mIKEY223017 жыл бұрын
They would have turned this off due to the high wind shear beacuse steering would be erratic. I would think its standard procedure to leave this off until needed.

i thought for the 747, the time to flare was at 50ft radar alt...

This is VERY OLD!! Dang runway 1L wasnt even as long as it is now!! plus theres no development before 1R there and now its a main city intersection!! Wow this is probably from 1993 or somewhere in that time!!

probably an old video judging by the quality... they wouldnt be able to go in the cockpit now.. unless they are crew that have recorded this!

if this was at LAS, 25L should have been long enough...747-400s land on it daily with no problems..19L&R too...
