I saw him open for Little Feat in '03 at John T's. Instantly blew me away. His mom was sitting on a stool in the back. She struck up a conversation and I said "he musta locked himself in his bedroom for 5 years to learn to play that well" She said "He did!" Met him after the show. Very nice guy also.

I stumbled on to Anton's in Austin Texas completely by accident while walking the 6th street area. The sign out front said 'Monty Montgomery Tonight ! $8.00 . (who?)I think it was 2005. I had no clue what joy my $8.00 was going to bring me that night and ever since. His music brought me to tears. Thank you very much.
