Got to see him recently on a blues cruise. I pride myself in knowing a few guitar slingers. This is one bad mutha! Unique, killer tone, and pitch perfect vocals. There are elements of this song that remind me of Mike Keneally. And if you don't know, Mike is some rarefied air himself. Nothing but compliments from me. Please include Salt Lake in consideration for a tour date.

I'd have discovered him in the'90 on long wave Monte Carlo Radio when I hear him playing in the midnight.I retain his name 'cause I was impressed alot by his sound.I find him later on Tube.I'm myself a guitarist and a quite good one myself but he's just another level.Here he's pure energy but I think that the piece is just shorter than it should be.

There is no question. Monte is a God! I am seriously looking into the possibility of constructing an alter in my living room so I can sacrifice goats to His Glory!

This man is just so incredibly fast on the fretboard, that it is impossible to keep up with what he is actually doing. I saw an interview with him where he stated that he played acoustic because there wasn't the technology in electric to keep up with him when he was starting out. I believe him.
@Guitcad18 жыл бұрын
I heard him give a different story. There's an interview around somewhere where he said it's because he's lazy and when he first starting out he didn't have a crew and he didn't want to haul a bunch of different guitars around.

I read an anecdote about 2 guys, apparently guitar players, leaving a Monte concert. One says to the other "I gotta practice more." His buddy responds "I gotta open a bait shop."

That's hilarious. Once in Tyler Texas I was watching Monte and Wes Jeans showed up. Now understand Wes Jeans is pretty badass and I bought him a beer and said so you came to watch Monte play, huh? Wes looked at me and said man I came up here to take lessons. about 15 minutes later he told me Monte made him want to quit playing lol.

PDSalling Yes. It's Monte's song. It has morphed over the years into this very heavy jam. It has been released twice - originally on the album "1st and Repair" in 1998 and then again in 2008 on the album "Monte Montgomery" which also displays his epic rendition of "Little Wing."

Such awesome lyrics to this tune too, I was hoping he would break them out, as a stand alone jam this was impressive. He and the bass player are tight as it gets. I like when he brings down the dynamics and the bass becomes a bit more prominent. I wish he would do a version of River where he starts low and subtle and ends in the volcanic eruption that characterizes this tune. A slow journey from sitting down to standing on your seat jumping up and down.

The thing to do is be born to a transient vagabond who lives on the road among traveling musicians and start playing as early as possible, preferably _in utero_. That way, as your brain develops it'll wire itself so as to devote the maximum portion of your cerebral cortex to the appropriate motor skills required to play like that instead of trivial, useless crap like playing Xbox, eating, jerking off, walking and chewing gum at the same time, etc., etc..

Zseniális gitáros, szuggesztív előadásmód, és a másik két zenész sem akárki... A basszeres olyan alapot nyom, hogy széllel szemben rá lehet dőlni. Csupa erő. Úgy jó ahogy van!

3:55 is where the f#cking band-aid gets ripped off and Monte beats the shit out of your ability to deal with an onslaught of brutal and filthy AXE lickage -- he takes no prisoners. 72K views is F'in travesty for this -- should be 72M... WTF
