I have been snatching up a few as I can get them. Surprisingly I can pick up some 1970s models for about nine dollars this is in regards to the ambassador line. When it comes to the executive they always demand a premium. It is sad to see these go and be discontinued.

I was late to discover the 74mm line and how great they feel to use and carry. I think of it like an adult-hand-sized Classic... I'd carry the Classic as a 'just-in-case' but the Executive if I think it's likely I'll have to use it. I had no idea they were so popular and a favorite among many, most notably the late General Chuck Yeager.

I have 2 Executives that are broke.Im not sure why they broke in the spine area but the rep at Victorinox said they be glad to replace or repair.I just never got around tp sending them in and hopefully they can still replace them..I did pick up a Executive in black because like the design and so far it's all good with a lot of use.

Most places I have seen in Canada are out of stock. I found one supplier who still has black executives. Ordered 3. At first I thought they would come back and say it is not available but I got notification that it was shipped.

I have a NIB Black Cellidor 74mm "Executive". Really wished I would've picked up a couple more. I'm fairly certain they're been discontinued for years (specifically because of the peeler tool), but everyone had "New-Old Stock". Plus there are like 3 different peeler generations for collectors to find. Now all that is available is the "Executive 81". The 74mm is better than the 58mm "Classic". Now I just carry the 58mm "Rambler".. it's the next best thing IMO. Cool video by the way !! Not man people collect Victorinox now days but I still have all mine !!

The 74mm’s are still available in South Africa, but the decision to discontinue will probably spill over.

Victorinox UK still have the Executive and Ambassador in stock, as do a few other online suppliers here, including Amazon. But that's not to say they are not discontinued, perhaps this is just remaining stock and won't be replenished after it's sold out. Bizarrely Victorinox UK also still have Victorinox Executive 81s - which are 65mm - as well as ''Victorinox Wengers'' which are the same as the Exec 81, according to SAKWiki the 81 was discontinued in 2017. The Executive looks nice for it's target market i.e. guys in suits or dress clothes (hence the name!) but that's not so much my cup of tea, for the same price I would get a Pioneer X but I'm hovering between that and the Farmer X for my next purchase.

You didn't mention the Money Clip. It has the same tools as the Ambassador. Most sites are showing it either discontinued or out of stock, but Amazon still has a few. I carry one every day. BTW I have an old Executive that has a nail file with a pebbled finish, the only one I've ever seen.

Hello Dan, I am a recent subscriber and found your video very interesting. I have been collecting 74mm's as I lover the size. I have one question to your time stamp approx. 2:00: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKingIZ3pLqCr5o . Did you have success changing the scales on the old Executive with the sing leaf spring? I have a similar aged (70s) Ambassador with Victoria Stamp and I could not replace the old scales as the rivet holes on new scale were slightly bigger. Could it be that earlier (70s) Victorinox used smaller rivets. Any idea how to get older scaled. Thanks and best regards

Great video Dan. As others have said, still in stock in the uk. I’ve been back and forth with the 74mm range and can’t quite find where it would fit in my edc. Not quite large enough for a main carry, and a bit big for the key chain. Still like them nonetheless and really enjoyed looking at some of the other/older models. Thanks for the video. There is indeed a 58mm Escort. I intend to pick one up, as I feel it would be a perfect compliment to a 93mm model with scissors. Someday I'll get an Executive, too. It is a little sad to see the 74mm line go away...but then again, Victorinox has to produce what sells in order to stay in business. Thanks for showing them!

I personally dont carry this 74mm line as i think the 58mm models cover these limited use models better ? The executive i think misses the point with its tool set and although i have some of these models as i used to collect anything from Victorinox . MacGyver saved the world with an executive ? Well almost !
