Very interesting! I'm half-Algerian, and we make the same dish in my home country. It's called "Garantita". It's considered to be one of the most popular street foods, and people usually put it in a sandwich with Harissa hot sauce and extra cumin.

That is so cool. The name being so close. It is also a street food in Gibraltar. And making a sandwich out of it sounds excelente.
