In a pretty dark spot, these are life savers. I have very little in my fridge and pantry. But I did have (shockingly) a lot of flour, I've been snacking on these since yesterday. Thank you for the upload and it honestly has helped me out to keep food in my belly!

My first batch came out a bit doughy since I didnt crisp them as I should, but the second batch was wonderful. Though I will admit, I did use a tiny bit of olive oil when cooking them as I found it gave it an extra kick in flavor.

@@autumnnoel318 Right ther with you too, I also have a good amount of beans and make do with that. I also buy ground beef to mix it up at times. I often try to push veggies into the mix (often actualy if possible) but sometimes...you just cant. The power of the internet, this was great and wholesome. I hope you two are having a wonderful day and know that things will get better. Lets keep our heads up yeah?

Growing up my parents always had a bucket of Sugar, a bucket of white Rice, and a Bucket of white Flour. Now as an adult and in my family of 5 kids and 2 adults, I continued the tradition of a bucket of Sugar, a bucket of white Flour and a bucket of white Rice. And I can tell you how much these stables of food have helped feed my family when my kids were growing up and their appetites increased yearly. Those items were life saving during those harsh days right before the next paycheck. We were quite creative with a variety of food items we could make from just flour, water, and salt. Now my kids are grown and a couple have families of their own and have additional food items along with their buckets of sugar, rice and flour.

Also keep your eyes out for my little pantry’s people leave stuff in them for each other. There’s a lot we can do with a little check clearance at the supermarket and locks Facebook groups for spices having some onion or raw honey (honey never ever goes bad neither does pasta salt or even sugar can last years) they can change the taste and make anything taste better, I use a lot of beans for protein and a lot of flour doughs for pancakes etc whatever I can moneys non existent right now our bills exploded and I have 4 kids one is 7 months old, my daughter is almost 5 an non verbal autism, and then two boys 12 and 17 an my husband works physical labor 65-75 hours a week, I can’t stand knowing they are hungry so I am doing everything I can think of to not make them feel like we are that poor, my husbands worked 22 years at his job he is not to blame but God gave us others to learn from, and in these times we truly can appreciate what so many take for granted my prayers to everyone, but please when you can suooort your local farmers , many need help and will exchange eggs and food for some labor or even marketing / advertising, without them we won’t be able to eat, and they are going through a lot we’re losing farms constantly so it terrifies me because I’m already not able to get the grocery’s I usually could the prices are just insane.

This should not be happening in the U.S.A. Illegals are being treated better than Americans & its OUR Tax💰💰 being used to fly them wherever they want to go, live in upscale hotels being fed with OUR tax💰 & yet they are complaining that they want their kind of food. Not one American home should have empty kitchen cabinets & refrigerators🤬

My dad used to make something similar to these when we were young. He called them "fritters, but I think he stopped at the point where each was extremely thin and pan fried them to the same appearance, nicely browned on each side. He's now 96 and doesn't cook anymore since we lost mom at 91, four years ago. I can still almost taste these. Fritters were a "treat" for me because I have allergies and was never able to eat pancakes because of my allergies to eggs (and milk). Think I'm going to have to try making them. BTW, we spread margarine over them and rolled them up after they were fried. Thanks!

When you just fried the round it reminded me a bit of when I grew up on a similar bread. We'd just make it like a thick pancake mix and fry it up. Great for "sopping" up gravies( like tomato gravy), or picking up bites of food much like using a piece of tortilla. Heck, I still make it and just use yellow mustard to dip it in sometimes. If you use self rising flour it will make a thicker piece of bread.

Yes!!! I just commented a about this. Our bread was thicker and bigger served with gravy and onions. It was (for us) one of our poor man meals. I loved it as a kid. Haven't had it since I was like 15. This video made me wanna try making it.

I’m going to try that today. I think I’m going to add a tiny bit of baking soda to see if it rises the bread a bit.

Thank you. I ended up putting my own spin on it because I apparently can measure and it was runny. So instead of added more flour, I just treated it like pancake mix. I added vanilla, sugar and a dash of baking soda. Tooed it with butter and maple syrup. Thanks for the breakfast idea!
