i came here in Qatar in 2013 and saw this 1998 Nissan frontier everywhere as a company/labor car and its 2021 and these bad boys are still used to carry cement and cargo that you think would only a GMC sierra should carry, well I have to admit the suspensions on them get lower every year but still a beast considered its used for constant work everyday

What’s in it? The 2.4l engine? Make it to 1 million or working on it still or did it finally quit. Seen them make it to 1 million, saw one being parted out at over 800k, they stop counting at 999,999.

2.4 with the manual transmission. I parked it at around 773k or so- compression was down to 48-52 psi per cylinder instead of 155ish. It still runs, it is just so low on power that it became dangerous to drive on the highway. lol. I still drive it around the farm and intend on rebuilding it.

@@puhleez420 Can’t complain with that at all! I recently picked up an ‘04 Frontier from my neighbor with 168,000 miles. I got it for 3k. It has that same 2.4l mine is tied to an automatic. Last year for that generation 98-04. It was well maintained mechanically which I will continue to do. Mine could use new shocks all around beyond that truck is great. Love these compact pickups. I’ll be happy even if I just get 500k out of it. If other items like the trans go first, I’ll throw another one in because these trucks seem to be notorious for racking up miles typically unheard of. Thanks for the reply.

Wanna know more about those pods on the dash
@puhleez4204 жыл бұрын
I built those a looooong time ago. They are fiberglass. They have 2 4" tang-band mids and 2 3/4" dayton tweeters in them. They are being run off of the head unit. They really want more power, but they do image very well- especially with just a bit of time alignment with the head unit. ...so... those are on the dash, there are tang-band 5.25" woofers in each door- for a "poor man's" 3 way component set. Low end is covered by 2 old school Infinity Kappa Perfect 10's - getting around 300 watts each from a Hifonics Brutus D class amp.

@@puhleez420 That's a pretty cool setup. What are you using to filter frequencies for the MTM pods? If I'm ever driving near you I'll have to get a demo.
@puhleez4204 жыл бұрын
@@srp365 mids are full range passive x-over BUT are 125 hz HP active from the head unit. Tweets have passive 6db dayton caps- crossed really high... 8k or something like that. The mids play pretty high with a slow roll-off, so the tweeters just do the high end razzle dazzle. ...you barely notice them. Images pretty good... l&r is good and center is spot on. The sound doesn't seem to come from the speakers. Depth is a bit lacking though- image is sitting right at the windshield, maybe the back of the hood. It would be nicer if it were a bit further out.

I have replaced all my sensors what else let’s see can think of anything I’m looking forward to see how many miles I can get this thing up to I’m guessing probably over a million
