I see MIAMI bouncing the Sixers out of the playoffs. When your 2nd star can’t hit a jump shot to save his life it’s a problem. Sixers will never advance far with Simmons.
@baltejbains59593 жыл бұрын
That's why they have harris. Simmons is just there for defense and playmaking, not doing much else these days, and they still win games. That's the formula now. Get the ball to embiid in the post, or let harris hit midrange shots. As long as simmons is a strong dunk/layup threat it works.
@kevinblanco46733 жыл бұрын
@@baltejbains5959 you could win games in the regular season like that but it becomes a liability in the playoffs and teams have exploited them in the playoffs for that. It’s just crazy for a guy to have that talent and be unable to practically hit jump shots.
@baltejbains59593 жыл бұрын
@@kevinblanco4673 That's false actually. The reason is because, in previous seasons with coach brett brown they relied on simmons and embiid equally to hit shots, and harris wasn't doing much in the offense. Now doc rivers has embiid taking wayy more shots than everyone else, especially in the paint, and harris is taking the second most shots because he is a good shooter. So you could say harris is the "second star" on this team now. Simmons just makes plays and gets embiid and harris good looks, and he plays elite defense. Difference in coaching is a big thing here.

Putting up 120 a night is no good if you can’t stop good offensive teams from putting 130 on your head.. Bucks and Philly could cause them problems. Even Miami.. Brooklyn might still win but I won’t be surprised at all if they get knocked early
@baltejbains59593 жыл бұрын
@@adammcg7115 Isn't it weird you gotta go all the way back to 04 to find an example where a great defensive team beat a great offensive team. Doesn't happen too often, does it? Btw those lakers had a top 10 defensive rating in addition to a top 5 offensive rating. Those finals were more of an anomaly than anything else. Also it's much easier to defend the paint (which is what 04 pistons were really good at) than perimeter 3s, which is what the nets do all night. It's basically another KD warriors type team. Bam is mostly a paint defender, like the pistons. All the heat have is jimmy and maybe ariza at the perimeter? Not good enough tbh.
@adammcg71153 жыл бұрын
@@baltejbains5959 I only used that example because you mentioned that the Brooklyn Nets have 2 top 20 players of all time which was somewhat comparable to those Lakers... And why are you only talking about Miami’s defenders? (Even though Bam can step out onto the perimeter too). What about the Bucks? Giannis is about as good a matchup for KD as there is in the league right there with Ben Simmons.. Jrue Holiday for Kyrie or James? Even Khris and Pat Connaughton have proven to be pretty decent defenders this year.. And that’s not even getting to Brook Lopez in the paint.. Giannis has lost in the playoffs to great defensive teams who have a bad matchup for him.. The Nets don’t have that. And Philly same thing.. Ben Simmons, Thybulle, Danny Green, Joel Embiid. Good defensive team and Nets or nobody have a good matchup for Embiid. I’m not trying to hate on Brooklyn but as a basketball fan I think both of those teams have pieces that can atleast slow their big 3 down a bit while they are still good enough to score heavy on Brooklyn’s weaker defence.. Y'all are not paying enough attention to the Hawks. They are going to surprise a lot of people in the playoffs.

This game was not as big of a deal as people are making it out to be embiid literally had the flu two days before this game he won’t perform like that again

Even if he doesn't you aren't winning if Duncan Robinson is locking up Ben Simmons
@briansantiago72833 жыл бұрын
@@dred9174 Duncan Robinson didn’t lock up anybody the heat are a team operated defense and 85% of their game last night was a zone defense there was barely any man so Duncan didn’t lock up no one

People don’t realize the heat played the lakers better than anybody in the west last year and the heat are really deep hero Robinson are stars plus bam and butler then dragic and nunn then ariza and iggy are good players the heat legit got 2 starting line ups that would make playoffs so whoever they sub will still be fresh and able to match up or dominate their position on the floor they legit have a big 5 would’ve been 6 with olidipo
@StillGoingNumb3 жыл бұрын
Exactly tho bench could be the starting lineup and when have u heard a team where everyone on the bench is "known"
@countryrah3 жыл бұрын
@@StillGoingNumb that Miami team actually one of the best teams I’ve seen in a minute honestly if olidipo was healthy I think they’ll win the ring it’s so real they remind me of that first warriors team before kd when it was strength in numbers the motto herro and Robinson baby Steph and klay butler better than Barnes and bam a slightly better version of draymond plus you got dragic nunn ariza and iggy lol dedmon would be bogut team almost mirror that team if you think about it herro is gonna be a super star Miami we’ll surprise allot of the media this year

Even when Nick talks about Heat and Sixers he’s gotta remind us how much he can’t stop thinking about LeBron. He can’t just give a take on the matchup, it somehow has to come back to a way he feels LeBron was slighted (‘flukey Finals’ comment) when nobody was even close to that topic. It’s predictable at this point.

Sixers aren’t scared they’ve been on cruise control for weeks this was a meaningless game
