Really like Vermeer and Hopper. My mind went there, too. Maples here on Cape Cod in the fall when they turn and the sun shines on them, you need no reason to turn the lights on inside your house. I call them Nature's Daytime Glowsticks. LOVE your Laughing Self Portrait. ❤ Thank you!

McKiver's Alder, Fog painting has a beautiful mood that is reminiscent of Anders Zorn's landscape paintings.

All alone for Christmas and this was quite the gift to discover Mr. Mcvicker on Charlies's show. A real treat! Totally second to none....both of you dudes. Think I've watched "A Way of Seeing" at least 3 times over the years for inspiration! Thanks Charlie. Thanks Jim!

My world is made better by your work on this video series. The relaxed give and take of your interviews shows the humanity and energy of the artists you interview. Thanks for the work you and Betty Soo put into this. Meeting Jim McVicker was a real treat!

42:19 When I sometimes get the "So painterly!" comment on my work I have to bite my sarcastic toungue - as the thought comes "Yes, paint tends to have that effect." Still its far better than the comment, "It looks just like a photo.", that just makes me cry inside. 😭Love Jim's work!

just to be a little bit nasty, he should have stopped with the top of the painting, just saying. These are gorgeous paintings why include this clunker?
