Some people don't take a bath so that's why their ear wax has accumulated . My mom always said soap is cheap . Then they expect the audiologist to clean their mess up. It's called sheer lazyness on bathing and I hope Dr Neel charged this person large fee for cleaning out these dirty ears so might as well put the blame where the blame belongs, on the patient .
@thecomorbiditycurator80182 жыл бұрын
@@patriciarundles7908 well, that's a bit presumptuous. some people naturally secrete more oils/wax in their ear canals than others. and when they try to clean out that greater volume, they're doing so blind to their ear canal. they don't have cameras or otoscopes like a doctor does. they end up unintentionally pushing wax further into the ear toward the eardrum while they clean out the ear canal closer to the opening. they think they got it because stuff came out, but they didn't get everything. repeated experiences like this end up like this man. I have several friends who obsessively clean their ears at home because they know they are "waxier" than others, but they still get impactions because of what I described and need their ears professionally cleaned out.

Some people just make more ear wax than others and if you don't know or don't pay attention to the amount of buildup, it can get out of hand pretty quickly. I'm not a doctor, but I watch a lot of these videos. The impression I got was that the build up of wax traps fluid near the skin of the ear canal, which over time results in damage to the tissue. The pressure of the wax against the damaged tissue will also hurt. My understanding is that it will heal if kept clean and dry, and that some of the pain will be relieved by the removal of the wax.
