Shaming people who have the incapacity to drive for days on end to rescue dogs when there are dogs in my own community that need rescuing. I foster dogs. My dog is a rescue that has seizures and is a tripawd. I got her from the city pound. She was highly unadoptable because of her medical problems, but I took her anyways and she has saved me as much as I saved her. She is worth every bit of money I have to throw at her care, which is considerable.

@@christinahitson4837 I researched this situation to find out what is happening with these animals. A large number of them had distemper. Distemper is a communicable disease. This woman that did this to those animals is probably mentally ill and a dog hoarder. She's self styled a "dog rescue", but no dog rescuer would house nearly 80 animals in a tiny house and be able to care for them properly. She got one rescue with distemper and it spread it to all of the other healthy animals. Distemper is a terrible way to die. I had a cat that died from distemper when I was a kid. It is uncurable and it takes a lot of supportive care to get over it, most don't get over it. It is kinder to put them down if you can't put them on an IV drip that will give them a fighting chance. I foster animals. I have worked with local rescue orgs to help house animals. There is an intake routine to hold dogs isolated until their health can be ascertained. Kennel cough and distemper can decimate a shelter. Because of her actions a lot of healthy young dogs are going to die incredibly painful deaths unless they are euthanized. She just let that go on unchecked with literally dozens of dogs. She needs mental health care, but her actions are really cruel

This person who was willing to take these strays in and feed them has my respect! It is very costly, time consuming and most folks are too lazy or uncaring to do this! Plain to see they were overwhelmed by the numbers! If people were so concerned about pets, they would keep them in their yards and then there would NOT be strays! Terribly sad situation. The person living there was obviously an animal hoarder. Despite the huge number of dogs and poor living condition all seem quite healthy and friendly. @justmissjamey these dogs look mixed. A few were full bread, which also end up in shelters. Just because you are listed as a breeder doesn't mean you are still breeding dogs. This looks more like a case of someone who wanted to care but got overwhelmed. Now, for sure they will be in tiny cages and most likely killed in kill shelters. I hope and pray that all are adopted by caring families.

What’s overboard is the stray pet epidemic , some people mean well and are trying to help them get off the streets , where they do not belong ! the core problem is too much breeding , between breeders and homes, people need to get pets fixed, especially mama dogs and mama cats , it will stop over population , it’s cheaper than raising litters & more importantly it saves pets from unnecessary fate! Rescuers are so overwhelmed , perhaps our donations should go to more abandoned / renovated homes , or sanctuaries to facilitate, all the strays in different towns and cities , someplace volunteers , rescuers can work out of to care for these beautiful babies so they have shelter ,love and care . 🙏🏾♥️

When the dogs were being passed out they were sweet. This shows they were not treated meanly. No dog showing teeth or growling at strangers most wagging tails,shows they are well loved. Perhaps this was someone who started with a dog sanctuary & ended up with a hoard situation. It gets expensive with more the ten dogs , medical wise the vetting would be out of the world ,on up keep &regular check ups alone. Wow ..every building & there’s more this is crazy…

It was 'Cober's Canine Rescue' and the 42-year-old owner said on the website that the dogs were, "Rehabilitated, slightly spoiled and very loved". Either the owner is disconnected from reality or she deserves to go to jail.

Thank God they were rescued with hope to find a good loving home poor dogs it's so sad & heart breaking the way they had them living. Great job to everyone that was involved in this rescue.

The owner rescued and fed them and now they will be euthanized by the new "rescuers" when they don't get adopted in time instead of bringing them back to were they were fed and cared for

Thank you for freeing them from cages for the rest of their lives. At least, Every one of them looks WELL FED. It looks like someone was trying to do the best they could to rescue dogs with what they had to work with. I pray every one of them finds good & loving homes. Thank you for being so loving & kind with them . This was a huge job for all of you. I hope if any of them were the humans "Own personal dog's" the little one's running free in the house, that they return them to them. They were obviously Loved, & all are very Sweet.

Excellent work Norton Shores Police Department & Pound Buddies, Harbor Humane Society & Glen Park Animal Hospital, these dogs are obviously so traumatized & so extremely grateful for help & they know they are finally being helped you can see it in their grateful exhaustion & the confusion on their faces; that maybe now their lives will feel more balanced. They did not ask to be born & to be treated so cruelly we will pay it forward.
