Anyway you said it bad too, because every car have instant torque, the correct words are 100% torque from 0 rpm, but torque drop at some rpm, and you can start the race with a petrol engine at max torque too, with a launch control or clutch pressed at the rpm where the max torque is, so thats not the answer about why they are fast.

StrykerV8 The S is getting a power boost from Ludicrous+ mode, which requires 15 minutes of battery warming, 85% or higher charge, and is not sustainable for more than 3 passes without giving time for the car to cool off. If any of those conditions aren’t met, the S’ time suffers, and the second race was close enough that it may have changed the outcome. The principle here is no different from a Demon with all the factory-supplied accessories installed running a faster quarter mile than the Model S. Yes, it can, but only when you put an asterisk next to that run.

Tesla can still go faster, just pair the battery with supercapacitors or change the battery to "LGchem" battery. The tesla battery is designed for long range not racing.

That limit is pretty much met already. Still far slower and less energy dense than liquid fuel. While electric motors are running at top efficiency to make the most of the battery storage converting it to motion, gas engines are only just getting into the 40% conversion of liquid fuel converted to motion. There's far more headroom with liquid fuel, and at a low efficiency level, gas engines are already out performing battery powered vehicles in range, fuelup time, energy availability. And talking about pollution, EV's aren't any cleaner when observing the entire life cycle of the product from mining to recycle.

Actually, in a street race, the Redeye would take off when the light goes green. The Tesla will need another 15 minutes to warm its battery up in order to unlock Ludicrous+ mode, or lose. Without that added power, the Redeye has better power:weight, and this one launches just as hard because it’s running Toyos.

You have to option to heat for the batteries to 50 degrees for max power output otherwise ur getting 0-60 in under 3 seconds anywhere at anytime without any waiting for batteries to heat.
