I think it's great . If you can make a 565 (71cc) into a 79 cc saw , and it has the horse power and torque gains needed so it competes with a 500i. As far as being able to pull a 36" bar full of 34" of Sitka Spruce or Western Hemlock. And have it last for a season of bushlin. I'll send you my 565 and have you build it !!! The factory 372 Western that came with 75 cc p&c from the factory. Would cut the same times with the same chain as the 460 Stihl. If you can beat that, your doing Great !!

Did you put it on the Dyno ? How does it compare to the 565 or 572 with your modified muffler ?? Is it possible to mount the carb from a 585 on it ? Im old , we used to have 2100 carbs mounted onto 266s . Super impressive for such a light weight saw. !

The 570 is a whole different design than the 572. It already uses this larger piston. Not sure which piston would work for a big bore on those.

did you get all the bottom of the cylinder sleeve cut off because I know on a 550xp if you take the base gasket out you have to trim the bottom of the basically skirt of cylinder so it'll go all the way down to! Maybe that's why your base was leaking at your sealant?? maybe trim just a few thousandth off just to be sure cylinder goes down flat? just a suggestion I know you've built plenty of saws but maybe a oversight
@dynojoemods27642 жыл бұрын
I have ran into that before, i think the muffler may have been holding the cylinder up slightly. These 5 series all have a few spots that like to hang up after a base cut.

Nice Project, it reminds me of my 545. when you drop the cylinder down it collides with the case at the sides near the transfercaps . Front right Side check for case clearence. Mine riched up at idle with 78 deg intake. We talked about it earlier. with stock Intake she ran good. I gave her 100 deg ex , so 18 deg of blowdown with a red barn Popup. She ran good in the woods for about 2 Tanks , so i will give her more intake again.lets see how she does! So i‘m waiting for your results. Great Video

Awesome build Joe! Certainly not a waste of time. Can't wait to see it broken in and pulling on the dyno. I really like this as a power adding option simply because the new husqvarnas don't seem to have a lot of easy "extra" power a person can get out of them.

Great video Joe! Really liked seeing the build process here and it was great how you showed the air leak around the base. I'd like if you showed the rtv process...what kind you use, how much you put on, how quickly it should be done. I've second guessed myself a lot. Also, why don't you just machine for the gasket and keep it? It looks sooooo good! The black tank seals the deal man! I think this thing just knocked my 2258 off the podium of the best looking saw ever!
@dynojoemods27642 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I coat both sides and let it tack up for a minute. The design of these cylinders the Bolts clamp way back from the front edge of the transfer tunnels. I think it may habe been the muffler holding it up some. A friend suggested to slot those. I like keeping as much material on the base as I can. I have seen plenty of bases get thin and snap. With and without gaskets.

Nice job Joe👍. I prefer old school Husqvarna 372XP. It's easy to get great gain, a better power weight ratio, a better result / porting effort ratio. I think that developing and playing with compact pipe Ironhorse style or similar, could bring better gain than drilling bigger bore with relative less effort.The finale product will have less vibration and design you can easy reuse.
