It's the story that captivated Australia - the disappearance of baby Azaria from an Uluru campsite. Her parents claimed it was a dingo, but Lindy and Michael Chamberlain were charged with murder. It would be years before they were exonerated. Our cameras followed Michael and his daughter Zahra, Azaria's half-sister, as they returned to Uluru. See more of the Chamberlain story in 'The Lindy Tapes': • The Lindy Tapes: the m... This story originally aired in 2012.

My daughter was born in May, so she was a few weeks older than Azaria. I had a clipping about Azaria that I carried in my Bible for years, and have closely followed her story. The pain of losing a child so suddenly and in such a horrific way is unimaginable.

This reporter is unfortunately an extension of the media that crucified the Chamberlains in the first place. He wants sensationalism, anger, something clickable. Just like the reporters in the 80s attacked Lindy for her reactions, this guy is harassing Michael for his reactions. The reporter should have respect for Michael's pain, especially given the hell the Chamberlains endured.

He seems like a lovely father. It's disgusting that a witch hunt with an agenda did he and Lindy so dirty. In early interviews he seemed 1) In shock! 2) a reserved, introverted personality regarding his emotions (especially in the era he was raised). And he was judged so harshly for it. RIP Michael. His reunion with Azaria must have been especially joyful.

I don’t believe anyone with their head screwed on and without bias believes they weren’t guilty. The prosecutorial incompetence ultimately worked in their favour but not the nation’s. It’s an unseen stain that they were not just not held to account but did well out of the death.

There was no evidence that she hurt her child, there were witnesses with them that saw no such thing. And plenty of evidence that showed the real truth. It was an unfair, trial by media. Those jury members should be ashamed of themselves. This family was torn apart over this. I was born in 1978, so just a baby myself when this happened. I obviously learned of this case when I was much older. I couldn’t imagine that happening to me or my family. They deserve a public official apology. I hope they all find some form of peace in their lives. Rest In Peace Azaria ❤️🌹

I always believed she was innocent and think the public blamed her because she had a calm demeanor which most didn't understand. I feel so sad that it took so long for them to get justice and thought it was cruel to take the father back like that and that reporter lacked in empathy. Not only did Azaria die the family was ripped apart it's so obvious in this video that Lindy (because of her prison sentence) didn't have that close Mother/Daughter relationship with Zara...I know Zara was raised by Michael and I know Lindy went to America to live because she was relentlessly pursued by media for "her story"...Lindy was also treated badly by many everyday Australian's who believed she lied...their son's were bullied in their school year's as well...shame on those that lied or (missed evidence or didn't believe the Aboriginal's who were tracking the dingo) in court to set this couple up for the murder of their baby...

In the last few years there have been a few stories of dingoes taking babies from camping sites. With one particular episode the baby was in the pop up caravan, and i believe between the father his wife and i believe the mother inlaw, they managed to track the dingo and it attacked the father and that poor baby was so torn up and scratched, but survived and was healing well after her stay in hospital. That bloody dingo opened the door or window to get the baby! We believe they are bloody clever animals.

Michael Chamberlain is a coward and needs to take a good long hard look at himself. He blames Lindy for the tent not being zipped up. What man blames his wife who was taken to Ayers Rock with her 2 young boys and 9 week old baby for the experience he wanted. Poor Lindy got tried by the media and a long stay in jail. He blames her for the marriage breakdown saying she became institutionalised and assertive. She had to. Michael did not help her case and has always been pathetic. I can only imagine the emotional abuse Michael subjected her to. I am watching this and I am as angry and disgusted with Michael as I am with the Australian public that condemned poor Lindy and scarred the children.

Lindy didn’t do herself any favours by the way she carried herself / behaved during the trial. I know she was angry but it exacerbated the feeling in the public that she was guilty.

Stop calling it “the rock.” It’s Ayers Rock. There is no name for this rock in aboriginal language, the area however is called Uluru.

I don't think they helped themselves when they acted so weird, people turned on them. I think it was pretty bad they were charged and sentenced. This must be pretty old cos Michael died a while back.

This was filmed in 2012 .. people turned on them because of how the media portrayed them .. I stll feel so sad for them .. all of them , but most especially Lindy, no matter what she did she was shredded to pieces .. Australians who particpated in pulling her apart should feel ashamed. But nothing will ever take away what happened to Azaria and her family

They did not act weird. Many lies were told about them. The intelligent among us never believed the media reports nor that she was guilty. The stories the media and the police were pushing never made any sense.

So utterly tragic - to loose your precious baby, and then be accused of her murder. This is the same situation that most families who's babies die from vaccine induced deaths face.

The Chamberlains had no choice in their child's death , parents that chose to inject their children had exactly that , a choice. No similarities at all .
