Opening day, Wisconsin's 2023 Gun Deer Season was here. I was hunting alone this year again as I usually do. After sitting and seeing nothing almost all of the last half of the day there was a glimmer of hope. I was at least watching not one but four doe's. Then like out of nowhere, a rather large buck walked into the picture, pushing one of the doe's out. I would later discover that buck weighed 199 lbs guts in. I hope you enjoy today's video. Please wear a blaze orange hat. In Wisconsin you are not required to wear a hat hunting but if you do it needs to be orange. I personally like your blind setup. The older one gets the more one will appreciate this type of hunting.

I spend 13 1/2 hrs in my treestand when I hunt. Shoot man your in a Hilto cabin and got more comfort than a livingroom. 😅😅

Good buck in anyones woods. Congrats. Love the choice of rifle !! 30-06? Owned 3 or 4 over the last 60 years of hunting. Really like the downrange camera action. Never seen that set up before. Some mighty pretty woods you got there, not to mention the hunting box(shed). Man could get real comfortable in there on a cold rainy day lol.

30.06 yes, thanks for the comment. The down range camera action is a Tactacam. As far as the woods go, 40 acres. The Lord does provide. Very comfortable. I’m blessed for sure.

NEGATIVE, feeders are not allowed in Wisconsin. That is a 55-gallon barrel I use to fetch water from my neighbor's well during winter months. I do not have a well on my property to date. Thanks for asking, I wonder if someone else may have had the same question.

Yes! Lots of hunters across this country hunt the exact same way. Where I live in Arizona most hunting consists of sitting in a chair behind a $3000 paid of binos trying to find a 90 inch coues buck then lobbing rounds 600 or 700 yards and wounding and never finding the wounded deer. Wish Arizona would outlaw scopes on rifles.

I'm 67 years old. I remember being 17 years old hunting deer with my Dad and my Uncle. We stood at the base of a tree and waited for something to come by. We positioned hunters on the perimeter of corn fields and had other hunters drive the deer toward us. My Dad could not afford to purchase land of his own. We depended on the graces of land owners with their permission and public hunting grounds. Much the same way it still happens today. I thank my Lord Jesus for keeping me safe through the 33+ years I worked in law enforcement on the road and making it to retirement at 62. I also give Him the glory for leading me and allowing me the funds to purchase the 40 acres I now hunt on. The castle in the air or the Hilton deer blind as some have called it is actually named Caden's Camp after my now 6-year-old grandson. I'm safe, I'm warm and others besides family members have been invited to use the blind which they have. I do not know what your idea is of "Hunting" sir. I do know that long after I leave this world the place I once hunted from will still exist and others will enjoy its comforts also. Be blessed and be safe Rich. :-) P.S.
