7th Test Drive - 09 Nissan Murano SL - secondary filter change/flush + filter cleaning

The saga continues...I finally found secondary or primary transmission fluid filter. Performed cleaning of both filters, drained fluid and continued to drive and document my progress, failures etc

Nevermind the cvt fluid, buy some new windshield wipers.

Cambia el filtro externo por uno nuevo, el cortar mal la entrada del otro filtro también causa problemas, el filtro externo cuesta 20usd en Amazon la cadena 120 usd para la jf 010 obviamente tú puedes hacer el trabajo suerte

Interesting to see if replacing secondary filter and also new fluid & pan filter will make any difference. As you are probably well aware Nissan’s CVT of this generation are prone to fail.

Unfortunately vehicle was sold after last video. Owner wanted to move on quickly to another working vehicle. I suspect if trans problems were caught very early, then all filter changes and fluid flush might have give it another 10k plus miles..who knows

Changing solenoid is key too. There's a solenoid module thing that sits above internal filter - highly recommended to be changed because the shift solenoid is very vulnerable to debri n contamination and will not function properly. It sells for 200 - 300 reman on ebay. If I had time I would try another project following all these steps plus a thorough flush. Nothing is guaranteed but for me, if I can purchase vehicle for 1k or less and invest only 500 in fluids n parts, I think the gamble is worth it

So what ended up happening did you fix it i did a drain and refill on my murano changed internal filter and i started hearing a winding noise just like in your first video i think i messed it up should have left it alone 😔

@juniormorales559 the owner insisted on selling the Murano. In my last video I started seeing shiny metal shavings on magnet - definitely not a good sign. I was told by a transmission pro that what I did only works if the slipping was caught very early and also changing a solenoid that sits above intwenal filter. I did look it up n a remanufactured one was around 260 on ebay. These solenoids are vulnerable to debris so the flush alone may help temporarily. Spoke to another guy who claims he rebuilds these transmissions but he confessed to me that all he does is thorough flush, change both filters, adds a secondary oil cooler and change solenoid/housing/module inside transmission. He charges 2k with 6mths warranty, spending only 500 on parts. Not a bad hustle I guess. As you may guess, small dealerships do the same, offer no warranty as they know most ppl won't keep up with maintenance etc. For me personally, if I have the time n space I would take on another challenge. Maybe try a Sentra or Maxima next time. Aim would be to buy the vehicle for 1k or less, 500 on parts and hope for best. I own Hondas and Toyotas with regular automatic n manual transmission.
