This film is not only a masterpiece but it is a realized projection of a masterminded person as Federico Fellini. All the people can dream but a few can put their dreams into a film. Isn't it extraordinary ?
@GlenKioni2 жыл бұрын
I liked this comment, and I find YT comments to be a cat bath. You need to avoid Public Living, and flaunting your 10 seconds of work, for artistic praise to get the entire sort of dream onto paper, film etc. You can't be the guy who talks about 1 hours worth of work for days and days to get this sort of dream. It's more like settling for an hour of publicity for ten days worth of work.

The best movie about a middle-aged crisis - when everyone is buzzing around, there is no more inspiration, everything is indifferent, only dreams and childhood matter.

Not only is the film itself a masterpiece, but this must be one of the greatest trailers in the history of cinema trailers. Even if the bar set by the standard trailer was not so mind-numbingly low, it would still rate at the very top.

Tbh, I didn't really like 8 1/2. Idk, maybe I'm a little too naive to understand it, but I really liked this trailer. The use of barber of seville really compliments the crazy, surreal nature of this movie.
@hamzarouri84544 жыл бұрын
I have actually revisted this film last night. It finally clicked with me. I especially love the little touches. Like how Claudia Cardinale symbolizes a youthful energy, or how in one of Guido's flashbacks it resembles a silent film, or how in one shot Guido looks like an old man. It really speaks on bigger issues like generation conflict and the evolution of art. Long story short, there was a lot that I missed when I watched it as a teenager and I love it for that.

I can’t understand or like 8 1/2 or dolce vita to save my life. Mi dispiace. I tried but I just can’t get through either of these films. I find so much more to like about De Sica’s work.
@AnyoneCanSee3 жыл бұрын
I loved both films, especially La Dolce Vita but I could see how the surrealism of 81/2 could be distracting for some people. I also think 8 1/2 has far more appeal if you are a middle-aged male. It is partly about the crises of identity that you have when you realise your best days are probably behind you and your mortality really comes into focus. I've been wanting to see De Sica's "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" but I can't find it anywhere online. I wish Netflix offered some classic movies. Is there a classic cinema collection online?
