GH did this same exact storyline with Jason and Drew After Steve Burton left GH in 2012, the role of Jason was recast with Billy Miller in 2014. To transition from Steve Burton to Billy Miller, Jason was hit by a car, leading him to undergo surgery and had plastic surgery, leaving Jason looking completely different (Billy Miller) and suffering from amnesia. Jason went by “Jake Doe” for over a year until he and everyone found out he was Jason, but he still had no memory of being Jason until 2016. Steve Burton returned in 2017 as Patient 6, a man with Jason’s original face. Patient 6 escaped from the Russian clinic just as Jason woke up from his month-long coma after being shot in the chest. Just as Patient 6 returned to Port Charles, it was discovered that Jason had an identical twin named Andrew Moore, later known as Chief Andrew Cain, a Navy SEAL. Patient 6 claimed to be Jason while the current Jason insisted he was Jason. Both men had Jason’s memories thanks to Andre Maddox since he was ordered by a mysterious backer (Faison) to transfer Jason’s memories to his twin brother, Andrew. Jason was supposed to be killed afterwards, but Peter August, Faison’s son, sent Jason to Russia while Andrew was sent to the Cassadines to be brainwashed, first on Cassadine Island and then to Crichton-Clark. Andre confirmed that he was sent to Port Charles in 2015 to monitor Andrew Cain, revealing that Patient 6 (Steve Burton) was the real Jason and the “other Jason” was Andrew (Billy Miller)
