Until now I have read 3 books in English and I feel proud of myself whenever I finish a book and I understand the whole story . really reading books is a very useful way to learn a language. Another book I suggest for everyone who wants to learn English ..it's "the rich dad ,the poor dad" by Robert Kiosaky , although this book is a little bit long ،but its language is very simple and easy to read .I wish a good luck for everyone who wants to master English and other languages.😍

My own experience of recommending Potter books to my students was that a lot of the new vocabulary that they picked up was relevant only to the Potter universe. Muggle, for example, there are hundreds of words like this in those books. The usefulness of them comes from developing confidence and flow because the students already know the shape of the story, both from the films and because they were translated across the world but the content isn't great for expanding terminology. The films are an excellent reference for pronunciation though.

Have you thought to record some types reading books before, Vanessa? I really enjoyed to hear you reading those ones. Learners of English with disability (blidness) whould love hearing your voice while they were "listening" a book as well. Imagine how many people you could help bringing to them the possibilty to be deeply immersed around the books world, which is an amazing act. Your voice come out like a sweet flute sound. I have no doubt it would be a success. :)

I would recommend A Street Cat Named Bob by James Bowen. It's easy to read and it's based on a true story. The book was pretty popular few years ago. Another recommendation is The Dog Who Dared To Dream by a South Korean author Sun-Mi Hwang. It's not original english book, I read it in english translation. But the story is really fascinating and touching! One of my favorite! Although I hadn't read in English much before I swallowed this novel in one evening. The book is not so big and also pretty simple to read and understand.

Yeah! "there's" is a contraction/shortened way to say the phrase "there is/are" just the same as "I am" goes to "I'm" or "let us" goes to "let's" and other examples
