It's certainly a lot of work for the production team's It's absolutely insane the enormous amounts of hard work that goes into the production of movies shows Concerts , i had the opportunity to do a few very large shows an from my mouth to God's ears the production employees earns their paychecks every penny, I now have a lot of respect for all those behind the scenes making it possible for the actors actress performers ect, it was a wonderful experience that im very humbled & seriously very grateful Appreciative i was able to experience it 😊 much love & respect for production team's around the globe. When this movie was being released to theaters in the year 2000, when I would go to the movies with my family, a part of the trailer scared me a lot. It was the part when Cindy Lou Who saw the Grinch in the mailroom and said: "You're the, the, the..." and the Grinch said: "The, the, the, the Grinch!" It was how he said "The Grinch!" that scared me a lot. I saw that trailer at multiple movies, and it kept scaring me, so during the trailers, I would sit out in the lobby so I didn't have to see that trailer, and one of my parents would come get me when the movie we were seeing was starting.

Due to the Grinch's nature of being irritated and cranky from the who's, it actually works out. In real life hes irritated by the suit and gets very upset! Thankfully it showed on screen and he channeled it to his role

If you look at Jim Carrey now, when he smiles, he actually looks quite a bit like the Grinch. I would imagine any actor that has to wear prosthetics like that would have some effect on their skin as they get older.

Jim Carrey was actually very mean to production. So much so he sent makeup artist Kazuhiro Tsuji to therapy since he was the one who did Carey’s makeup and got screamed at by Carrey every day. Also, RIP to Ryan Evans, the actor who played the young grinch but died 2years after the movie was made.

Of course Ron is famous for playing Opie in the Andy Griffith Show and his brother Clint played a little Cowboy in the show. Ron went on to become a great film director following the success of TAGS and also directed Rush an F1 movie about fierce competitors and rivals Nika Lauda and James Hunt as well as the Grinch before that.

I'm amazed that Jim Carrey kept the role despite it being a part that caused him the most discomfort. I wore a full body burlap costume for a weekend convention once. It was Oogie Boogie from Nightmare Before Christmas. I wore it all 3 days and asides from bathroom breaks and drinking plenty of water I never took it off really. I was miserably hot and sweaty, but at the same time had too much fun being the character I didn't care about how uncomfortable it was. Always wondered if I could tolerate a special effects make up like Jim's as long as he did... I know I'd try.

Can’t deny Jim carry nailed it, but I think what sells this, is not just his acting, but the fact he continued to do it for the kids. I think he mentioned it when he was interviewed for the Sonic movie. I can’t say that I blame Carry for being aggravated. If I had to sit around for hours just for makeup to a movie, I would get pissed too. At least this is an old movie, and despite this being the worst for Carry, hopefully this will be the last he has to do something crazy like this.

$20 million dollars for 92 days of Jim Carrey's work? That's like $1,840,000,000 dollars in total according to my calculations. Also, I once played the Grinch last year in 2020 for virtual theatre at my own home because of COVID issues when I couldn't perform on stage for a while. I also had to suffer wearing a mask since it heavily limited my vision to the point where I couldn't see where I was going and I had to film for over four hours due to constant technical difficulties. All in all, I've done a lot of takes while wearing a really uncomfortable mask.

Actually they’ve been going the animation route mostly because after the disaster that was The Cat in the Hat, Dr. Seuss’s widow, Audrey Geisel, was so angry that she, being the owner of his estate, forbade any further live action adaptations of her late husband’s work for as long as she’s alive. She died two years ago, but I still don’t think they’ll do it.

I figured it out that the bottles had to be made out of sugar as A. That's the common technique for when someone smashes a bottle on film, having learned it from a stuntman presentation in fourth or fifth grade. B. Eating glass is unappetizing, unhealthy and dangerous as glass will result in eternal bleeding in the mouth, gums, throat, belly and glass can't be digested.

Look what Boris Karloff and Lon Chaney had to go threw for there make up and it was longer than 8 hours they even slept in it so they didn't have to go threw it from scratch at times. The guys that played the Tin man, Scare Crow and the lion heavy make up and gear in very hot movie sets. There are many other movie's but I believe you reading this get my point. Jim had nothing to complain about plus being paid 20 million. What was he expecting some cheap out fit.
