I'm happiest with color on my walls. My first house was like a crayon box, yellow living room with huge crown mounding painted white, a terracotta red kitchen, a blue TV room, a green office. Only my bedroom was a soft tan color. Everyone that came over told me how happy the colors made them feel! Now in my second house I'm really feeling the pastel spectrum and will have light blue kitchen cabinets and I'm SO excited!!! Your homes are very very elegant and I enjoy watching the videos. But I want my home to feel whimsical, playful, cute and for anyone that walks in to just smile (like when you see a smiling baby 👶)!!!! 😂😂😂. I have a lot of cottage vibes that are going that help with the playfulness. 😋😉

Same. For the house we live in, we use actual colors. When we sold our last house, we repainted it be neutral (magazine-like) and it looked great, but it didn't feel like home anymore.

Hi Mollie, Love, love, love your work. I have watched soooo many videos and read so many articles over the years on paint colors and undertones, but not one of them drove home your point about picking a gray (or presumably a white or a beige, if I am extrapolating correctly) with the undertone of the desired colour rather than a version of the hue itself, to achieve a soft and understated look, rather than being overwhelmed by the intensity of a version of the colour itself. Thank you for this comment. Duxbury Gray has an LRV of 22 and Gettysburg Gray is 29; these are dark mid-tone colors. They might have had them lightened. These projects are too gorgeous not be shown in their full colors.

Definitely over the all white kitchen. I’m building and just did a kitchen with greige perimeter and an urbane bronze island. Used brushed brass hardware with a polished nickel faucet. The Urbane Bronze is so gorgeous that I decided to use it on my built ins in the mud room and the walls of my powder room.

Helpful hint: BM Baby Fawn = BM Edgecomb Gray. It’s funny how BM renames colors to get more sales. Edgecomb Gray has been a go to color for many years. A beautiful neutral.

Gorgeous colors. But wow Pigeon looks so different in the photos you show. I guess it goes that light if a room gets a lot of natural light. I've seen Pigeon used in other rooms where it's much darker and I don't care for it as much. But I love it in the kitchens you showed!

I have painted my kitchen a mid tone yellow. Not too light or dark. I am painting my cabinets white but the white is too bright and kind of harsh looking. I am going to tint the paint. Browns go well with yellow -as in light taupe or cream cabinets. But I also like grey with yellow as in a mid tone to darkish gray cabinets with the yellow paint. What are your thoughts??? Thanks. Hi Molly. Can I just ask you a design question please? I absolutely love the last kitchen in this video with the Gettysburg gray and the upper open shelving. I have a dilemma. I’ve already installed fantasy brown although the slabs I picked were predominantly white. I really love the white appliances with the bronze handles. I have not seen them at all with the fantasy brown🥺. I would love to get away from the stainless but the countertops you used for this design with white appliances were not fantasy brown. 🤷‍♂️. I really fell in love with the white appliances from this video. What do you think? Will they clash with the fantasy brown? I am thinking there must be a reason I cannot find this combination and any other videos. Thank you for your time. I love all your videos!! I think you are the best at what you do. 😊

My granite countertops are called lapis, they are a gold tan and black veining. So looking at it as a solid it has a yellow tone to it. Had to laugh. I'm actually from Duxbury, Massachusetts originally and to have Duxbury grey struck me as odd since Duxbury is a sea coast town. Anyway, on to my question. My kitchen is dark, as in little natural light. I've painted the walls a light blue (aloe color) which I love and do not wish to change. The cabinets need help. They're oak in a medium brown stain. Not a bad color but they are in rough shape. Counter top is brown granite and back splash is tan with glass tile accents, again I like it. My question is: "What color cabinets?" White is the obvious answer but I don't want to be obvious. Would a beige or greige work if I kept it light? Remember - kitchen lacks natural light. With that answered, what about the woodwork around doors, windows and baseboards? Thanks.

I’m redoing my kitchen and painting the perimeter white.. maybe the island too! Would love a video on your thoughts of white everywhere vs white oak island white perimeter vs walnut island white perimeter vs painted island white perimeter.. anyway, my question is should the white perimeter be the same white as my baseboards and trim white? I think it can be more interesting with mixing the stained and painted. If you want something really traditional then the all white does have that feel. What I would recommend is going through your Pinterest boards and seeing what you save the most of 😘
