I love Hazy Skies. In my bathroom with a low sloped ceiling I used this paint colour on walls, ceiling and trim. It created the illusion of spaciousness.

I am using White Dove and Chantilly lace for my trim. Not yet since I have not started but next month for sure. I really like whites and the my windows will also provide lots of light.

When I needed to paint my 3000 square ft home to put on the market, after driving myself insane with trying to figure out what I liked. I discovered using large project boards for large movable samples. The thick boards, students get to present science fair projects work great. I had my daughter roller paint a couple layers on each board (you can do front and back) then write the color information in the corner. I would set up the various options in the room and as I went through my days I would move the boards around the room. I would make notes on a sticky note for the room it was in. This way I could move the board to the next room and start over. Amazing enough my husband would also give me his thoughts AND I didn’t have large patches of paints on my walls when company came over. Inevitably I would usually forget to label or lose a sticky note label from a wall sample.

And furniture... type n color? I was thinking of doing a swivel chair like yours in the theater room. I can do one or two. And a new sectional. Any recommendations? So happy I found your channel today while looking for paint color ideas for my foyer. I love all the colors you suggested. They look beautiful in your home! I hadn't really considered white paint but would you recommend swiss coffee for a 2 story foyer with a lot of natural light? I was looking at green grey coastal colors but seeing your Benjamin Moore white suggestions has me considering white walls and the colored accents you suggested for my front door and french doors, (both are currently painted white and in the foyer) Thanks for sharing these colors and I look forward to your other videos.

I've loved it! I have the 2 story foyer and feel like the Swiss Coffee gives a nice warmth to the room that some whites don't! You'll want to try a sample still just to make sure you like it!

Hi Molly, so what kind of sheen did you do inside the theater room where the base boards are painted the same color as the wall? Are the baseboards still satin and the wall eggshell? Maybe it’s all satin because you have that beautiful molding on the wall? Thanks!

Painting sample boards is something we’ve done when testing colors. The drawback we’ve discovered is light doesn’t reflect off these boards as it will does when testing paint samples on the walls.

My walls are bm silver satin - I have Boothbay gray as an accent colour on French door to deck from the kitchen and inside the front door. It’s an open concept bungalow and I’m looking at bm gray owl for the kitchen cabinets ( princess white quartz counters) - does the gray owl make sense with the silver satin and the boothbay gray? Hello! Thank you!! And sorry for the delay! Yes, the door is in eggshell! I typically do satin for doors & from, but we had some of the Duxbury Gray in eggshell finish left over from an accent wall so that’s what we used :)

I agree this can’t be BM Duxbury gray. I just bought a sample and it’s a dark green gray color, like an olive. No way that is the kitchen cabinet color.

This video shows exactly what happens to color when there's a lot of natural light in a room. Boothbay gray and Hazy skies are midtone colors. I could barely see them in the built-ins and kitchen pantry.

We used the white dove in the hallway of our flip house with duxbury gray on the doors. Looks beautiful. Also used the boothbay gray on the wainscoting in the bath with classic gray on the walls. Wonderful combo with the matte black fixtures. Your color design advice gave us a starting point for figuring out the palette, which is not easy for non-designers. Thankful

Thankyou for your suggestions. My wife and I closed on our retirement home on December 27th. I just finished taking out a few walls now the process of rebuilding begins. We are colors and decorating dummies so your videos are really helping . This house is a circa 1970 original unmolested and bought from the original owner. So we’ve got our work cut out for us . Maybe Revere Pewter if you want a darker trim than your walls. I used Benjamin Moore Super White for my trim and doors for a subtle contrast. Hope that helps!

Just fyi...as a.pro painter Sherwin Williams Emerald interior paint is very durable and cleanable in flat or matte without having to go with sheen.

Benjamin Moore the best paint I’m painter for 16 years I used Dunn Edwards sherwin Williams vista paint PPG Home Depot sometimes but the best paint is Benjamin Moore for cellings is the best ultra spec

So i have my existing wall wise owl color and all the bottom side boards and doors and trims are swiss coffee, im planning to change my door for upgrade look and make it brighter so since i can paint them different white, im wondering which white paint i should use for door and trims? if the side boards will be the same swiss coffee since i cant change it, should i keep the door and trim to swiss coffee or i want it brighter whiter white , will that be weird if the door trim and sideboard will have 2 different white color? When I was looking for a home to purchase, the first thing I noticed was the paint on the walls. The wall paint makes a big impact when you taken in the cost. Most of the homes are freshly painted to make the home sell. Most people will go to a designer, to make sure that the paint will accent all of the wood work. More homes have open kitchens and family rooms. Since granite is a big item in kitchen, your paint will have ro embrace your cabinets, applications sinks and faucets.

I have white dove in my living room&kitchen. It's definitely a white without the cream color that swiss coffee has. If you have lots of light white dove is great but I feel like it has a touch of grey to it that could look dingy in a dark space. hth I'm going to try chantilly lace in my bedroom

The door your standing next to, you said it was Duxbury Gray. I got a sample and it was really dark...almost muddy. Careful when ordering, Thier may be 2 color codes, or you misquoted the name.

What about ceiling whites? What white colors do you like on ceilings? Do you prefer pure ceiling white? If the room has crown molding to differentiate the spaces do you like cloud white or other shades of white on the ceiling? I think a lot of people forget how much repainting a ceiling can lighten and freshen up a room.

Yes! For ceilings I usually do Benjamin Moore’s super white. It’s a very pure white. That’s what I used in my own home. And so true, it really can freshen up a space when the ceilings aren’t looking dingy! Thanks for watching :)
