I can’t think of a better explanation of this topic. It’s always made sense to me - I used to tell people who asked “ where was God during the atrocities “ to ask themselves who was committing the atrocities. People were doing that, not God. And projecting our own nastiness onto some external devil is the same kind of blindness . This episode is amazing, especially how you explain the sin and emotions. I’m going through a Pluto transit of my Moon and what I have been learning about the emotional distortions and passing the buck could fill volumes. I even literally ran into a buck in the woods last winter and for a stunning 5 minutes he stood on a path 20 Feet in front of me and stared!! I still pinch myself but it happened. Talk about a lesson.

I love and follow Bill's KZbin lectures, and find much of his understanding on parables and allegories quite remarkable. However, in this particular video I must question his definition of the word "Hel" as he explains it. He claims it means "knowledge", yet when I researched it I found this explanation of the word on Mythopedia: Hel’s name was taken directly from the Old Norse “Hel,” meaning “hidden.” Its name may have been a reference to its remote, subterranean location. The realm was sometimes referred to as “Helheim,” meaning “place of Hel,” or perhaps “hidden place.” The word “Hel” was derived from the proto-Germanic root, haljo-, meaning “concealed place.” This same root was the basis for the word “Hell,” the Christian place of suffering for the wicked and the damned.

These are Bible contradictions. As we see in this scripture 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. The Bible also says God is love and perfect love drives out all fear. The problem here is something that most people do not consider. What is going through the minds of those who were sitting at a table writing this material. Were they thinking God could do something bad to them. Or were they thinking of fear as awe, and a tremendous reaction of the mind in considering the most powerful entity in existence. It came out of the minds of the writers who were considering a particular issue and that is one of the primary reasons that scripture cannot be taken literally. I study the scripture and determine the meanings behind the words. As Paul said to do Romans 7:6 We have created words and names to define life experiences. There is evil and when we add a d there is devil. There is good and when we remove one o there is God. Aristotle wrote that we must be one with the highest good. Let us look at what the devil is. Matt 8:16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: The people were possessed meaning the devils were within them and Jesus cast them out. Notice too that they were called spirits. You are suggesting that the devil is male because the scripture says He was a liar. Spirit has no gender. No male or female. MATTHEW 17:18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. Notice how in ancient times, people attributed illness to the devil. If you get sick would you think that you have a devil in you? To my understanding, Jehovah "God" claimed to be "The Most High God" and that there was "none besides me" because he truly thought that, but the Gnostics have an explanation for it that the mainstream church dismisses and calls heresy. It's known as the Sophia Myth, and when she accidentally created him out of turn without her consort, he found himself alone in the universe and declared himself to be God. He believed himself to be the creator of both light and darkness, good and evil because he saw nothing else around him that could have done so, which is why Sophia called him Saklas, meaning "fool". Yes, he 'thought' he was the only power in the universe, and the highest one. Jesus never called His Father "God", he never once referred to him that way. He called Him "Abba" or the "Heavenly Father", and said "The Kingdom of Heaven is inside you and outside you", in the Gospel of Thomas, wherein it is claimed that Didymus Thomas wrote down the words of the Living Jesus as he spoke them, something the synoptic gospels don't claim, and archeology finds those gospels to have been written long after any events took place. So, I'm asking if you reject the Gnostic teaching that the Demiurge aka Jehovah/ Yaldabaoth/ Saklas/ Samael is the entity known as the Devil in most religions (though they don't admit to it), and that the Transcendent "God" or Father is above that in a place outside this created universe known as the Pleroma or Supernal Abode? Do you disagree with them? I understand the idea of God/good and Evil/devil, but that only works in the English language. Take for instance Spanish, God is Dios and good is Bueno, so that doesn't come out the same, nor does it in any other language. To the Gnostics, "God" is actually the self-proclaimed lesser god who needed help creating anything which is why he's also referred to as the "half-maker", and could only create inorganic creatures like the archons. Without the "breath of life" from his mother Sophia, he couldn't make Adam stand and become a living soul. He was a "flesh" god who could interact with his creation physically and in person, but when the bible says "No one has seen God at any time", it is speaking of the Transcendent One, the Father, the Holy One who has no flesh body, no form, no size or shape. The Gnostics could not find it okay to be aligned with a God who was one with the evils of this world, which Jehovah claimed he was; i.e., pedophilia, human trafficking, pizzagate, genocide, tyranny, the inquisitions in the dark ages, the crusades and coliseums, to name but just a very few. I know you don't believe the actions attributed to him in the OT are to be taken literally, but we know from recent-enough history that there have been just as heinous of things happen in this world, all without this god batting an eyelash to stop it, even if he didn't straight-out commission it. Nature and the food chain is another atrocity that the Gnostics said could not have been created by a truly holy and benevolent parent. They believed in a higher and lower Creator. Which God would have created entropy? The Gnostics did not believe the true Father ever did that. They said this is a world of darkness, suffering and grief; a flawed world created by a flawed lesser entity. Most of them were vegetarian and abhorred materialism, and led such exemplary lives that even their enemies admired them for it. So what I'm really asking is if you disagree with that, and disagree that the lower god is the Satan being hinted at in the religions of the world, even if they don't understand it as such. The Gnostics also said Satan/ Demiurge had taken us captive and put us into flesh bodies to be slaves in this world. It is so obvious that has always been our condition and situation here. Jesus said he had come to set the captives free. Luke 4:18 If you don't agree, that's fine, but I'm asking if you give it any credence at all? The Gnostics wrote the first gospels, and that's been verified. The Catholics and Protestants re-wrote their prayers from those of the Gnostics who preceded them, which contain references to Sophia instead of Mary, and to the "Father of Lights" instead of God.

If you look, at the Bible you will find that it is made up from teachings from different cultures handed down thousands of years. Examples, Krishnas Birth, Zeus Birth, Jesus Birth. The same story mixed from different cultures. Or King Sargon and Moses. Both of their mothers put them in a container in the water and floated them away to be picked up by another. Different ideas, different cultures but the same story. You may find it delusional but that's the way the writings that make up the Bible and other holy books has worked. Bill [e-mail]
