Thank You for your videos. My tip is I take full pkgs of card stock (250) to Office Depot & have them cut it for $1/cut. For bases I might take 125 sheets & have them cut @ 5.5” & the other half @ 4.25” for top folding bases. I also have them cut the mats & stamping cards. For under $20 I get tons of paper cut perfectly.

I appreciate you saying that cardmaking doesn't need to be perfect. I've been somewhat of a perfectionist most of my life to the point that it often stifles any progress or creativity. I have LOTS of crafting products that I want to use all up, but feeling exhausted from all the choices and later having to clean up (I don't have a dedicated craft space, just my one-bedroom) often causes me to not want to do it. I've managed to sell a few of my creations, and I want to make it a profitable side hustle. What you said makes me feel much better.

HI Kimberly. you sound JUST like me. I want everything I do to be just right. perfectionist!! my sons say it's my OCD. Trying to let go of it..ha ha. I have one bedroom that was turned into y sewing /embroidery room. Then got a cricut maker, and into card making. SOOOOO much stuff that it does make it hard to choose what I want to do. I think my paper and material are catching up to each other in amount,and I have a lot of material. lol love her videos, it helps me in the making process. KNOW what you mean often don't want to do something. My room is so full, by the time I find or decide what I want to , it's late or get 🥱😤 and have to do it out in my kitchen.. So I guess we are not alone lol.

Kimberly, I struggle with this as well. The desire to make perfect cards or anything crafty is very overwhelming. And even though I have a dedicated room to craft in, I am even more overwhelmed with getting my room organized, which keeps me from being inspired to create anything. I’ve purged my room and donated many items to make room for my craft supplies but I just can’t seem to get it together.

Your video on mass production makes so much sense to me! I have worked over 40 years in the industrial sewing industry. It doesn't matter if it is clothing or airline pilot seats; every operation is analyzed and streamlined. The best use of supplies and also the repetition of movements and processes are always considered. Like you did with minimizing the number of cuts and waste from your card stock and stamping all of the images at once. You are a genius!!

My absolute favorite KZbin videos are always yours. We tend to be our own worst critics, and it’s so refreshing to have someone with your talent remind us that it’s not about absolute perfection!

I enjoy your cards and techniques. I am a demonstrator myself. I am one of those who loves the product and just loves to make cards to send to family and friends. I have had people ask me to make cards for them for a special occasion. The last was for a dear friends daughter in law's baby shower. I used my stampin up products to make the card/invitation for her. It was my gift to her. I don't make cards or invitations to make money on them, but to share my talent and gift.

Hi Anna. I really like your ideas and cards and your videos. I also can hear your voice with no problems. I have some slight hearing loss. Your voice is perfect for me to hear. I need to mark the lines on my trimmer. It's so much harder to use than my old Guillotine cutter.

Dear Anna, I can’t believe you finished all 8 cards from cutting to embellishment in 30 minutes. Thanks for your time saving tips. I usually make batches of cards, 8-25 per design. But it takes me a lot longer to finalize on the card design. I tweak it a lot. :-). Once I have a satisfactory design, it usually doesn’t take me too long to make the cards, but I still take 15 minutes per card on average, or 2h for 8 cards. I suppose I can be faster if there is no coloring or too many layers to assemble. But my cards tend to be elaborate, sigh, I am usually not satisfied with a simple design. So 15 minutes per card is good for me. I have spent 1-2 hour per card before. But those are art cards with lots of drawing, coloring, or many cut elements.

I made 8 birthday cards today and should’ve watched this video first, it would have worked out so much better. My first mistake was using a happy birthday die, and it took forever to remove all of pieces then trying to glue it down was a nightmare. I will definitely keep it simple in the future and leave complicated dies for the one off card. I love your videos!
@katiemccollister4358 Жыл бұрын
Try using a dryer sheet between the paper and the die, it holds most of the small pieces. I cannot remember whose video I saw this on so I cannot give credit
