The same for me, I only buy the best cars - champions of reliability and low TCO. Thus, I own and buy only Japanese cars: Miata ND2 RF, Suzuki Jimny LCV, Lexus UX 250h. No BEV clunkers for me. I had Korean, German, Italian clunkers etc. When I was not valuing the time enough I liked some good quality/price cars: Peugeot 206 and 207CC, they were reliable enough. But I drove also Toyota Avensis (2 different generations), RAV4, Aygo, Yaris, a Honda Civic (for 11 years), a Suzuki Swift, an Infinity FX35, a Mitsubishi Outlander etc. And I couldn't go back to cheap or expensive clunkers. The best cars, especially for your financial freedom, are the top reliable and economic cars, meaning Japanese ones, with a gas naturally aspirated engine or hybrid, less electronics etc. I am no fan of any brand (the cars I currently drive are proving this), I am cerebral enough to get only Japanese best cars, the best investment for my work (if you buy a car just for your free time, for pleasure is just an expense).

I never wanted nor want now a cusshy sedan. I have no problem with a well built SUV but they are getting out of hand on price and build quality is mostly terrible. I had a nice Nissan Pathfinder, you know a real SUV body on frame, like the 4Runner, went to look at new Pathfinders, true story, on the lot brand new, looked at 5 different ones, the 5 all had obvious cheap plastic toy like material interiors, I noticed all 5 the glove compartment doors and hinges never closed all the way or fell open, paint on the inside top of the fenders on all 5 looked more like over spray than a paint job. These things cost from the high 40k to high 50's, I'd expect a lot better QA and build quality for over $50,000.

Anytime a foreign corporation gets control of a US manufacturer, all they do is suck the cash out and leave it in shambles. The germans took the cream, Fiat gave it a 1/2 hearted try and now stellantis is chewing the scraps off the bone. BTW they are also raising the prices on cars that are already not selling, pretty stupid move if you are actually trying to keep the company going.

Nissan has neglected the Maxima for years. I remember when it was an enthusiast’s dream! A family car that could be had with a manual and one of the greatest V6’s ever put in a vehicle! But, TBH, at 52, I’m probably not buying any more sedans. Too hard to get out of when I can get an SUV or pickup and slide in and out. The Dodge is just old. It’s made Chrysler a fortune in its run, but all things must eventually end. A new one will probably show up on the new platform. The rest of the list, I could care less about.

Hey Dave , are we ever going to get some more off-road reviews or has that become a issue with KZbin pushing for short videos ?
@everymandriver11 ай бұрын
I don't know about the Shorts... cuz I don't focus on Shorts... KZbin doesn't reward ($$) creators for doing Shorts. Off-road videos is more about time and resources for me. If I have the time and I have the right vehicle that week, I'll will try.

I think these auto makers just want to keep pushing their SUV's cost maybe 10% more to build, but sell them at twice the cost. more profitable.

Well as far as it being my fault I'm more concerned with paying my bills and buying groceries than I am with buying a new car. Right now its cheaper to keep my 20 year old car that I can repair and maintenance myself than to buy a new vehicle that won't last past the warranty.

The Bolt is dead, but consumers didn't kill it. It was the 6th best-selling EV in the U.S. in 2023 and the best-selling non-Tesla after the Mustang Mach-E.

The Dodge Challengers was 10 years overdue to be cancelled. Both the 300, Challenger and Charger were really showing their age! As far as the maxima is concerned the writing was on the wall. I'm not a big fan of Infiniti these days, but who needs a maxima when you can get an Infiniti for the same price? Good Riddance!

What other quick real car is coming out with a V8, RWD, and decent ride? The 3 Chrysler products and now the Camaro going. They want everyone in Hondas.

@@jimandersen3003 Other "quick real car" 🤣 🤣 Let me see Chevrolet Corvette, Porsche 911, BMW M2, Nissan Z Nismo, Jaguar F-Type R75, Porsche 718 Spyder RS, CT5-V Blackwing, to name a few. And none of them look like an antique that was built in 1972 🤣🤣🤣 And they can all actually handle a curve in the road! Plus none of these is built by the "real car" manufacturer - Fiat (sorry I mean Stellantis) 😂😂

I only buy American automobile nameplates. Since the Three have decided to kill off all of their full-sized, family sedans and cars in general, I'll just keep driving my Ford Power Stroke. I'll search the used car market for any remaining, low-mileage Marquis, Crown Victoria, Lincoln Town Car, or RWD Cadillac Fleetwood.

We are being told that EVs are not selling so why are these ice cars being stopped
@codincoman901911 ай бұрын
Very simple answer: because of poor reliability (indeed, still better than BEV). But there is also a simple solution: buy the best ICE cars (hint: they are all Japanese, don't believe the CR lies about Mini & BMW - probably they paid their way to Top 10 reliable car brands). But they will be out soon, just as it happened to Buick, Dodge, Lincoln, Audi, Kia etc.
@ceemack216511 ай бұрын
Dodge put a literal ceiling on the market for the Challenger and now they’re paying for it. The low roofline limits headroom so drastically, and the stupid design of the doors restrict ingress/egress to such a degree, that the Challenger is basically impossible for guys over six feet. I’d love one, but at 6’6” there’s no way in hell I could drive one. Rode in one once and it was miserable.

And the visibilty is aweful. The huge rear quarter panels and narrow windows make it like peering out of a tank. It handles like one, too.

I'm a boomer, electric cars don't really interest me as well as any car with 4 door doors. I think Dodge milked that cow with the Challenger for as long as it could, sorry to see it go for the second time.
